I believe that the woman who posted her dislike of Adam's use of a phrase deleted her post and Adam's response, not the other way around. I think Adam was right on the money to call her out. What does being a Christian and sensitive have to do with her liking or disliking his lyrics? That gives her the right to post on Adam's page that his lyric was unnecessary? Obviously, he felt it was necessary and overdue. If fans don't like his music or lyrics, they don't have to listen, but to publicly chastise him for them (on his own page) begs a response in my opinion. Hmm.. may be we should agree to disagree on this subject as we all have our individual sensibilities. I am not religious but I think the woman gave respectful feedback while Adam fired back at her pretty harshly. He reminded me of a bully. What about open dialogue outside of the echo chamber? Not sure if it is possible on IG to delete a comment that you didn't write yourself. Doesn't matter at this point, however Adam can close the comment section if he doesn't like the slightest tone of criticism.

I thought that Adam had been responding to her comment, so if she deleted her own comment, his responses would also be deleted. But I'm not certain of that, and maybe he did delete his comments. Maybe he thought better of them, who knows. I guess my issue was that I didn't think her feedback was that respectful. She could say she didn't like the music or lyrics without saying they were offending her Christian and other sensitivities or saying they were unnecessary. I think Adam is trying to break free of some of the pearl clutching that has gone on with a certain segment of fans. I see so many comments telling Adam to tone down his look, his makeup, what kind of music he should make, shouldn't make. I get fed up with it, so I imagine he may also. That's what I was speaking to.

I understand where you are coming from with regards to "pearl clutching", though I think that particular term is highly overused as of late. I actually googled it not too long ago lol. Anyways, I agree that "entitlement is not sexy" as Adam stated many years ago, and I see myself often on the fence where honest, respectful feedback ends and entitlement starts. I think it is the wording and it depends in which space/forum opinions are shared. Fine lines in my opinion, and I still feel that Adam could have answered to that fan less harshly, in the sense of "I am not religious and that particular term doesn't hold the same meaning for me as for you. Sorry." It sure looks like things have been "brewing" inside of Adam as evidenced on page 1 next thread, where he is calling out the pearl clutchers himself.

He may be "overcorrecting" a little and does come off somewhat defiant, but it's not like he was asking for people to tell him if the lyrics offended them or whatnot, he clearly has stated that he made this music for a particular segment of fans and is "breaking free" of all previous restraints placed on him and his music. Sometimes he has asked for feedback, but he didn't this time (and I think for a reason).
