Where is ED when we need him?? He used to say OK patience it's all being worked out.. Hmm that sounds like good advice without Ed saying it. I think Ed got sick and tired of being yelled at by Adam's very vocal fans. :  ETA- I think RCA rolled BTIKM out in Dec, ahead of schedule, because that damned BFM stuff was being put out and called Adam's "new music." Hate.hate.hate what those Beg For Money asshats did to Adam. >:( |

Wow, I forgot about an Idol appearance. That could be a good promo opportunity for a new single.
I have a question about album promo. I know it must take time for the label, or maybe it's management, to get everything set for the drop week (morning shows, Leno/Letterman, etc.) Do you think the delay will create any problems?

I think he will sing whatever the single is at that time. Idol will be around the same time, I am guessing. Probably the week before or the week after. I agree. I hope they get the new single out quick enough to have time to build before then. The higher the better!This is not the time for f**king around indecisively! |

RCA Ed posted on AO recently and simply commented that stations who say they don't have BTIKM to play are basically full of shit. I am beyond disgusted at this point. I spend good chunks of time daily trying to support BTIKM, and I feel so sad that Adam has worked so hard to see such lame results. I hope they change the single for the UK since every single person consulted over there said that that was their least favorite for a single. Ugh.....sorry to be such a downer. OMG RCAEd posted again?!! Ok - someone on AO PLEASE tell RCAEd that we'll be good little Glamberts, we won't whine, and we'll tell him that we appreciate everything he does at least once a day IF HE JUST STICKS AROUND AND TELLS US STUFF!!!. Pleeeze...someone pretty please do this. Just tell Ed we love him and we're sorry we ever, ever caused him headaches, and that he's really good looking, and we're sure he's just fantastic in bed.... For what's it's worth, I think RCA have now asked the stations what they would support and they said the Bruno song....which wasn't ready and wasn't for sure even going to be on the album. Hence the delay to finish it up and get it on. . Yes, I had the exact same thought: that RCA did make inquiries with the PDs and the Bruno song is what they liked best/want, hence the scramble to make it a single. The only positive thing I can say about RCA right now, is that at least they have delayed the album. They didn't do that for Daughtry or Cook. Yes, completely agree. I don't even want to think about the situation where his album would have dropped without a hit single. I'm not gonna lie, I am not only disappointed, but worried. As of now, things are not looking good. They can of course turn, no doubt about it, but this is not the start I wanted for era 2. Yeah well, onwards and upwards! |

Adam wasn't getting slighted~just because. Radio stations (DJs) say this when they don't want to play a song because it hasn't been approved by their PDs. The radio stations had the song, they just didn't play it. It is common for DJs to tell callers they don't have a song yet because they don't want to piss off their listeners. BTW, this is a line that DJs feed the fans of every artist- not just Adam. This isn't some giant conspiracy against Adam. Did I say it was? No...I didn't. Frankly we don't know whats going on and I never said I THOUGHT HE WAS GETTING SLIGHTED but I am I am trying to see both sides of how people feel while still stating that I don't think it's the case and I am positive...but srsly not gonna post about this crap anymore to keep having my words mistaken....not worth it. Have fun guys. I didn't say that YOU said or thought that. I was commenting on the ~slighted meme. I don't know where it came from or who said it or who believes it and it doesn't really matter. I'm just posting my feelings about whether Adam is being ~slighted or not purposely by the radio stations. |

My concern/disappointment is that two of the most buzzed about songs from the UK promo (and some of the earlier US interviews) Cuckoo and Trespassing don't seem to be single contenders. Don't get mad at me (I'm only speculating) but it feels like the label had some last minute doubts and is scrambling to pull in 2 or 3 additional songs that they consider to be "radio friendly." I guess at this point I will be content with anything that gives him a "hit" and sales.
There is SO MUCH going for Adam right now, it just isn't fair that radio is such a struggle.
This may be unpopular, but I think it is the whole "Idol thing." Unless you are Kelly, radio just seems to be making some kind of statement, or trying to. And this didn't start with Adam. They are all having a tough time. I don't know what is going on with Daughtry, he seems to have disappeared. Is he even getting a second single? I mean, I know he must; but where is it?

There is definitely some weird difference this time round in Canada... My local top 40 station played the crap out of FYE, WWFM, AND IIHY. I mean, srsly... I'd head out in the car to do some errands, and I'd hear all three songs while driving to the grocery store/bank/pharmacy, then I'd hear them again on my way home. FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS AND MONTHS. ALL. THREE. SINGLES. ALL. THE. TIME. I mean, I think Canada was the first country where FYE actually went platinium.
This time, there is no BTIKM. Nothing. Zilch. No promo of any kind. :-/

Adam never plays it safe, why should his singles be safe?
If they choose NCOE as the new single, I would think it is only because it is written by Bruno and is safe. It does not represent the funky dancey new sound Adam is talking about and the new single should represent this sound in my opinion. It is dancey, but not funky.
I would expect a Pharrell collaboration is a big thing, too, for me bigger than the Bruno collaboration. And it is a real collaboration for me, they wrote it together, it was written FOR Adam. The Bruno song is not specifically written for Adam. I think I would not have a that big problem with this song, if Bruno would have written song with Adam in mind, Adams voice and style, and if there would not be Brunos version floating around. It is something different than a Claude Kelly demo floating around. It will always be floating around deleting will not help, because Brunos fans will stick to Brunos version, no matter how good Adams version is.
It would be like, if someone would sing one of Adams pre-idol songs we heard thousands of times. A version of another artist would be just wrong to me.
I want the next single to be out of the box, because Adam is it and this is what people see in him and not a safe, Bruno like artist. Adams songs has to be unique and recognizable, but that does not mean, they all have to sound alike, just that if a casual fans hears a song, they should be able to say this is Adam, without having to check it. If he wants longevity that's very important. You can not archive it with songs, that could be written for anyone, IMO. It may be a hit, but IMO it does not help to built up his brand.
WWFM was an hit but it does not show you what kind of artist Adam is. I did not see it at least, it took me to see a live performance of SW to hear the voice and fell in love with it, but I also saw the costume and the make-up and the attitude, that he is different and interesting. Do you know what i mean?
I like both BTIKM and NCOE as songs and I think they would be good singles for another artist, but not for Adam. I'm OK with these songs on the album, but please not as singles or at least not as one of the first singles.
That's only my opinion and I'm not an expert, only an over invested fan and I'm not expecting my opinion to be popular.
