WHY THE FUCK WON'T VH1 PLAY THE VID??!!??!!??!!?? Ok - I **need** to go back to the store. I only see one sure add. Everything else is up in the air. [walks out in disgust] Probably because RCA asked them to hold their support for the next single. They want to move on to the next single and put all their resources behind it. |

I don't know how the industry works, but some things have been rolling over in my mind today. I really wonder if RCA intended to do a big push for BTIKM. It seems to me if they wanted adds for it they could get it. I still think it was put out there early because of BFM and to introduce the album concept. I'm sure they would have loved if it would have taken off but it doesn't seem like RCA pushed it hard. In most of Adam's interviews he talks a lot more about Trespassing then BTIKM. I wonder at what point they knew about the Queen gig. Did this factor in the timing of anything. The week we get this announcement is when BTIKM falls. I think it would make sense to release the single Trespassing because the bass line resembles Another One Bites the Dust. The Queen tie in could be used for promotion. Will Adam promo BTIKM on Saturday Night Online? Is it too soon for him to promo something else?

Oh, and the promo RCA is giving this Chris Brown and Rhianna song is making me sick. It is so disgusting and I would think the same thing whether I was an Adam fan or not!
There is something wrong when it is OK for an abuser to sing about missing fucking the girlfriend he almost killed, but a gay man that is "the nicest celeb anyone has met' can not get a song like BTIKM into Top 20 on HAC!! It is just so wrong and excuse me but "Fucked up!"

1 friggin auto add this week. Well I guess this song has run its short course. Between know one adding the song, and the spin increases all but stopping this week, VH1-one of Adam's biggest supporters not playing his AWESOME video???????..... :  Oh well hope the next one does better! |

I'm back. Guys - I'm normally upbeat, and it kills me to say this, but I'm convinced that BTIKM is now toast. Z100 wouldn't add. It wouldn't add the day Adam was there doing awesome promo, and it didn't add today. If New York won't play it, BTIKM just isn't going anywhere meaningful. There's nothing wrong with the song. The video is awesome. Adam has knocked it out of the park every single time he's sung it. Its just not getting played. IMO, this week was make-or-break. It broke.  |

For what's it's worth, I think RCA have now asked the stations what they would support and they said the Bruno song....which wasn't ready and wasn't for sure even going to be on the album. Hence the delay to finish it up and get it on. If there are no adds today I think the new single is on it's way, although it may take a week or two and they haveAdam being talked about all over radio re Queen in the meantime. I agree. I believe we are getting the Bruno song for the next single. There is some reason that the song went from "might not make the album" to "working on a song that Bruno wrote". I don't care what they have to do or who they have to bargain with, just so they get Adam back on the radio in time for his album release! I just keep remembering Adam's words: "It is all for the best". I don't have a problem with the next single being the Bruno collab if it is. I don't think it would be thought of as coattails either. Almost all the big artists do collabs. This is nothing new. Almost afraid to say this since the RCA hate is so strong on here today - yikes- but I do think RCA is investing a lot in Adam. They just sent him around the world promoting Trespassing. I haven't seen that happen with a lot of other RCA artists - at least none of the AI artists that I keep up with - Kelly maybe. I just hate to angst I guess - it upsets me too much. Everyone sounds so upset. :( I know, if I can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. No one needs to tell me that. :-/ I was reading on a David Cook site the other day and the fans sound just like here. It was sad. I still think that if they messed up with BTIKM, they'll fix it somehow - like they did with WWFM after FYE didn't do well. I believe.  ETA- what's NCOE? |

Guys - I've never been scared about this album before. The reviews from the UK have been blindingly good. The collaborations are awesome. But this was a "safe" song. A well-crafted, well executed, safe song. And the big stations who have played similar stuff would not get behind it.
My glass suddenly looks very empty. Please talk me out of this mindset. Now.

Yeah I kinda think it's time to cut their losses now too. I sure hope there is a method to the madness....I mean singles don't always work but this kinda seemed like they didn't even give it a chance...I sure hope it's because they are saving up the huge pushes for the next singe(s)....
Oh and how did we decide the next single is Bruno's anyways? We don't know that. Gah, it's hard to believe they didn't want this to be a success bc they gave it an expensive video...but nada. I don't get it.
I DK WHY they would want this venture to fail...if so why dump all this money into it? So weird.

The only positive thing I can see coming from RCA is the album delay. I think they want a big single for the rollout. It is all in their hands. I'm sure even Adam has little say on the next single.
HSM, I think that was the problem... they went too safe. I don't think the pop stations wanted or expected a safe song from Adam. Adam should never be promoted as an HAC artists and yet, that's what RCA did. They chose an HAC song and thought it would crossover. It didn't!
ETA: Chunkey, I agree that RCA wants this album to be successful. It just seems that lately they are incapable of making the right choices.
