I am SO FUCKING EMBARRASSED by this woman!!! I FEEL Adam feeling awkward!! I mean REEEAAAALYYYYYYY ???????? And the mail interviewer trying to get out some of her embarrassing moments and move forward!! Interview with Adam Lambert on the 94.3 The Point Sound Stage Agreed, Gelly. Felt the embarrassment when I first heard the audio version. A squee or two is ok (Oprah did that), but she just keeps going.

I think it was posted here earlier, but I just realized that BTIKM is now on the list for SiriusXM's Hits1 countdown. It's also on their favorite HitBound poll. Please vote. It's very easy and doesn't take a lot of your time. I also just voted on vh1.
I bring this up because I had gotten very complacent about voting and requesting this time around. It's not really my thing and I felt comfortable that Adam had enough fans doing these things on his behalf and had two successful singles and a Grammy nom and didn't need my help. But then I realized that if a lot of people have been making the same assumptions that I have, then maybe the radio stations and vh1 are not seeing the support for Adam that they had expected.
I thing right now Adam needs us more than ever. The numbers are simply not good. We can angst about it and create negativity or we can up our efforts and show the stations that there is support for the second single. Right now, I feel like saying screw it with regard to US radio, but that doesn't help Adam. Requesting and voting may not help, but I'm 100% sure it can't hurt.
Anyway, not trying to tell anyone what to do, just my opinion and my way to keep myself from angsting.

Just catching up on last night's posts as always. I want to comment on a few topics and I'm not as eloquent and detailed as a lot of others here. It's gonna be long so scroll if it gets boring.
I know that the negative comments on Queen boards are directed at Adam, but personally I think they are a bigger insult to Brian and Roger. They chose Adam. I even think the comment that Freddie would approve of Adam was directed at those haters. But, who the fuck cares. Queen sells out arenas. True Queen fans have bought tickets and will either love, like, dislike or hate Adam's performance based on their own personal tastes. I truly believe that Queen lovers and lovers of great music and great voices will love it because Adam and Queen will kick ass. There are a lot of groups that I love from waaaay back when that only have one or two people that are original to the group (4 Tops, Temptations, etc.). I've seen them recently and in no way was I pissed off that I wasn't seeing all of the original members. Someone posted an article the other day that said that creators always have to create (or something like that). I happen to love that these artists search for new artists to play and sing with and (as far as I've heard) don't advertise that so and so new artist is replacing so and so original artist. They want to continue to make great fucking music and bring it to the fans. And want to continue to love what they do and have done for decades.
cassie, I agree with your post that today's music is very simple and sounds the same. Broken record, but I spend 10 minutes at my tanning salon a few times a week. They play Z100 and I kind of bop along to the music to pass the time. I never ever have had to change my bop beat, except for when they use to play WWFM. A lot of the music I loved growing up was considered bubble gum pop and was simple with simple lyrics. However, I have the Time Life 70's music CD collection (6 cd's) and not one song has the same beat or auto-tuned sound. I am totally baffled why current music is what it is. I've never requested songs on the radio (bad fan, I don't do the requests for Adam). The stations just use to play a variety of different sounding music. I know the words to the hundreds of songs on those Time Life cd's. Every single one was played on AM radio back then. I won't ever hear Adam on the radio because I just won't spend the time to listen to a bunch of crap in order to do so. That's okay because people here let me know if his songs are played.
As far as the homophobia goes, I just don't buy it. Did anyone ever really think that Elton John was straight? Seriously? I'm pretty sure that his management and label talked him into marrying a woman. I was in my early teens and all of my friends and family felt sorry for him because we kind of knew that he was forced into that. Has our country and radio really regressed to the pre-70's mind set? One of my best friends back then was a lesbian. We never talked about it, but knew it and loved her anyway. Three male relatives died from Aids back then. Unfortunately, two sons of the straight brother died of the same disease. The family knew their orientation and while the older family members were uncomfortable with it, they were never ostracized, condemned or excluded. My family was not a liberal, modern or ahead of the times family. ETA, we did not know it was Aids back then, but kind of thought that it might have been related to their sexual orientation. Sorry, I digress from the topic of Adam not being played a lot on current radio. I just don't get why PD's and DJ's would not play great music because the artist is gay. Doesn't make sense to me. OT, but I had several girlfriends who were devout Catholics that had abortions in their teens. With their parent's knowledge. They were not kicked out of the house and none of their friends thought they were pariah sinners. They did what they thought was right for them.
Anyway, I'm getting off the topic of Adam. Sorry for the ramble, just had to get that off my chest.

If Adam is out there playing the radio game, I'll play the radio games as well. I'm voting on this Sophie thing just because the other guy wants it so badly. BTW, the thread today is making me all angsty. There is so much good going on with Mr. Lambert's career. Personally, I like BTIKM. I don't listen to it very often but there isn't a morning that it's not in my head. It's the first song that I start singing out loud. I too have become a Top 40 fan. I listen to it ALL THE TIME. It's driving my husband crazy. I too see no reason why BTIKM isn't getting played more. I see the differences from the songs they seem to be beating to death but I also hear a lot of other songs that are very different that are getting played during drive time. I think all the points that are being made this a.m. are valid. Whatever the stigma, Adam walking into the stations and giving the interviews has got to eventually pay off for him. We have to keep supporting him and interact with the stations as well. Adam's playing the game and so we should too. Keep requesting and, damn it, I'm beginning to feel like holding them accountable......not enough requests just cannot be true. ^This says what I think better than I could myself! It's my young adult daughters that I drive crazy, though. In their eyes, mom should not know so much about current music, or even worse, sing along! My take on requests for BTIKM is not that there are not enough, but rather there are not enough from the right demographic (teens, young adults) The ads on top 40 stations are certainly not aimed at me. Radio also seems to ignore/dismiss perceived idol fan bases, for whatever reason. By the way I love, love, love all of Adam's videos. I want more singles just to get more music videos!

I think it's a good idea for anyone interested to do this...just keep in mind that it may not do anything. Look at how many stations aren't playing despite fans playing their stupid games or saying they are not getting requests and fans clearly are requesting...a lot. Not trying to be a downer all I am saying is don't feel pressure that this whole era's success rests on the fans shoulders. Fans have clearly been supporting as much if not more than last era and if radio won't play along because they don't like this song, well we have to see what next song brings.

WARNING -- deep end 4Ms It is so interesting that you chose to post this macro with the Williamson quote. I just watched The Shadow Effect by author Debbie Ford last night and Williamson was a contributor -- the quote was used as well. It is about embracing both light and dark sides of the self in order to be your true self. Another of my favorite quotes was Deepak Chopra citing the eastern saying, "The sinner and the saint are merely exchanging notes." The movie approached the subject of duality in a very accessible way. Here is an overview of the content: theshadoweffect.com/index_main.php?page_id=4And here is the movie trailer: Watch it -- it's everything Adam has been talking about in era#2.
