Srly?? We're doing The Rainbow Fish discussions today?? Gah - what a horrible book. I've been given multiple copies of it too over the last couple years (yeah - koshka I own it - just keep throwing it in the basement, there's a lot of better stories out there on how not to be a jerk). The only twisted morals children's book I hate more is Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, which in my mind is purely about enabling selfishness. There the tree gives and gives and gives to a boy who takes and takes and takes until there is nothing left but a stump. Even as a child I thought it was one of the most pathetic parables ever. All I know is that Adam better not be "The Giving Tree" b/c I really want him to get some payback for all the work he's putting in. Noble suffering for its own sake is severely overrated. : OK, This made me laugh and I have to share this review page with you. These are people's responses to and ratings of The Giving Tree. Sava Hecht "Co-dependent tree needs to set some fucking boundaries." David " I'd hazard a guess that Bernie Madoff read this book, and look how he turned out. In fact there's a whole generation of bwankers who took it as their bible. Thanks a bunch, Shelly boy. " Morgan "...I keep expecting a missing page to show up where he pisses all over the tree stump at the end. " Carol "...This book reeks of the patriarchy. Keep it away from your kids--especially your daughters." Siobhan "I don't think I have ever read a book that has pissed me off more then the giving tree." Bird Brian "This book is a piece of stinking propaganda feces glorifying the perverse role of the "adoring slave"- a role being foisted on the middle class by Elites, who expect us to grovel and thank them for keeping the wheels turning on this putrifying and grossly unjust system, as we bail out their "too big to fail" banks, brokerage houses and insurance firms. Taxpayers play the role of the Tree, as Goldman Sachs and AIG executives- playing the Boy- award themselves record-level bonuses, and then come back the next year asking for yet more "distressed asset assistance". And what do we do? We give it to them, and thank them for all their good work! ... 'Tree' is the middle class, the 'Boy' is the small handful of sadistic fuckers who run our system, and The Giving Tree is the repulsive parable of the sick age we live in." www.goodreads.com/book/show/370493.The_Giving_Tree Wow. Hahahaha!!

OT but I have to ask: Went to buy hair spray today -- haven't in years (growing bangs out) -- it's like $25 to $35 a can!!! What has happened out there in RL while I was busy scrolling here??? No wonder Adam is doing all these festivals and such -- maintenance! I know. Beauty products are not cheap these days. I have girls that are so into trying out all these new beauty stuff So we all know that Adam will make LOTS OF $$ on this concert with Queen. You guys want to take a guest? 1 million, 2mil lower or higher ..what?? I know i know we will never know the amount he will pocket on these festivals. OK I cannot help but share this. Hairsprays are really toxic. Nexxus and many others for example contain triethanolamine which has been linked to cancer, allergies/immunotoxicity, and organ system toxicity. ( www.ewg.org/skindeep/product/100909/NEXXUS_HEAT_PROTEXX_Heat_Protection_Styling_Spray/) Here is a great non-toxic (and less expensive) hairspray. www.suncoatproducts.com/index-hairspray.htmAnd here is another list of less toxic hairsprays from The Environmental Working Group's site Skin Deep. www.ewg.org/skindeep/browse/hair+spray/The Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Database rates cosmetic products according to the toxicity of their ingredients.

Regarding the question about the Queen press helping BTIKM get airplay -- it is having no measurable effect
Here are the numbers for the past 7 days vs. the prior 7 days on HAC in the US.
Peak #31 Last week #31 This Week #32
ADAM LAMBERT Better Than I Know M... 19/RCA 2011 Spins TW 510 LW 501 Change +9 (This is 7 days vs. 7 days) Stations playing 44 up 2 from yesterday Average spins per station TW 8.6 LW 8.5 +0.2 TW vs. LW -- down 0.2 since yesterday
On Pop radio, it is #64 this week vs. #63 last week in spin rank.
LAMBERT, ADAM Better Than I Know Myself Spins this week 242 last week 193 change +49 Total Audience Impression past 7 days 0.745 (in millions)
I think the numbers speak for themselves -- BTIKM is stalled or has peaked. It has enough adds to move up the charts -- particularly on HAC. The fate of this track is in the hands of radio listeners and fans. If PDs and DJs hear that their audience wants to hear BTIKM, they will play it. I talked to several PDs who added BTIKM to their playlist -- they tell me they are not getting requests.
ETA: Now is when requesting BTIKM really matters. It is at a tipping point. And this is when a few fans can make a difference.
