Nice to see Adam express his gratitude for his longtime fans. I wasn't sure he still felt that way after some of his interviews while promoting Afters. He called some longtime fans homophobic and closed minded because they were not excited about EDM or dance music or his sex life or gay stereotypes. While many understood that he should do the music he wanted and try to appeal to his community if he wanted. But many longtime fans, became fans because of his voice, style and charisma and his sexuality was never an issue. They supported him as a man, a gay man, a talent and as a person because they adored him. And many supported his efforts and fundraisers on behalf of his community. Even if they did not comment on his socials about not liking Afters (to get shut down by him or his boyfriend, lol), they read his interviews. The music and the combative attitude was unappealing and jarring to many. And while his fans want him to have a happy personal life, they are not as invested in his boyfriend or friends as some others. But they want to see growth and maturity in his music and less about his party life. I still support his career but found it disappointing when he said dance and pop were the only music that he liked. Does that mean he will continue to only try to appeal to a niche audience, and not showcase his big talent and extraordinary voice, with any future music? If that is the case, I will just have to be satisfied with his older videos and music from Queen, covers and some of his many great album cuts. And his other projects.

I don't really recall him saying this. He did say he knew it wasn't everyones' cup of tea. He did acknowledge that the older fans were "pear clutching (which is true).
