Happy Thought:
Adam doing idol should mean another interview with Ryan Seacrest. The last one was so fun. Ryan is a bit of A fanboi. So interesting listening to Adam talk about glamnation before it started. He always tells us everything. We just have to put it together. 8-)

I can quote WAY too much Monty Python... a group of us in college used to go around quoting Python...yes, they were my theater and music friends (which is probably why we sang "every sperm is sacred" in the cafeteria one day--it was hilarious and people thought we were nuts). Bite your tongue! You can never quote too much Python.

I just read this really fascinating article over at the Huffington Post about how creative people are more complex than most people. I especially resonated with what the author had to say about extroversion and introversion -- that creative people tend to be not so much one or the other, but BOTH. For example, I am (among other things) a singer and performer and a friend of mine once said that she thought I was the most "introverted extrovert she had ever met." Heh. This article really made me think about Adam -- especially the parts where some researchers interviewed a number of musicians and wrote about their public and private personas -- they "juggled many faces". I think one of the reasons so many of us find Adam so interesting to follow is that he successfully juggles many "faces" that are part of his complex whole. Here is the link: www.huffingtonpost.com/scott-barry-kaufman/creative-people_b_829563.htmlWhat do you guys think? I didn't want to post many quotes from the article here for copyright reasons... Wow, can't wait to read that revlisacat. I'm going to wait until I'm fresh in the a.m. I can totally relate to what you're saying. I consider myself an extrovert, but in many ways, I'm a loner. I'm extremely comfortable being by myself – dinner, movies, travel – I'll do almost anything by myself. And when I'm in a relationship or other social situation, I need alone time. Adam has said similar. He needs time to just chill and do what he wants – even if that's stay in bed all day and watch movies (and eat ice cream). I think he had very little of that during the tour and hopefully has since made up for it. Keeping with our English theme, when I toured Windsor Castle a few years ago, I struck by a sense of anxiety when I pictured Queen Elizabeth NEVER having a moment to herself. I couldn't imagine her life, always under the scrutiny of someone else. She could never just go to a pub to hoist a pint or indulge at her favorite French restaurant. Or dance on the beach in Mexico, if that's what she wanted to do. That freaked me out. ETA: Okay, I've read half of that article, and HOLY CRAP, it is so me, it's ridiculous. Which then begs the question, why the hell haven't I created some heartbreaking work of staggering genius by now. :-/ :-/

My favorite scene from the Holy Grail -- the Black Knight "come back here and I'll bite you're kneecaps" -- gets me every time...

His Kate Gosslin comment is hysterica! We need to start using the term "The Full Lambert." I really like that description.

I never have a problem being alone, or doing things alone. And dh knows I need my alone time at home. However, I am also fairly extroverted. Enjoy talking to people, and have worked in the hospitality business all my life. I would prob have gone nuts on tour, constantly surrounded by people. I imagine GNAFL really appreciated the hotel stays, so he could enjoy some alone time. (and other things--had to go there, sorry)
