I think we should start a list of Queen songs that are *rock* enough....hmmm I nominate Stone Cold Crazy! IMHO it's the most "metal" of Queen songs. Metallica covered it and James Hetfield sang it with Queen at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. (Plus I love it so am really hoping they do it.) Here it is with Freddie: From the tribute concert:

Just curious.. which would you consider borderline? Without going to look song by song I would just say the whole Hot Space debacle. If I am remembering correctly it gave us one or two good songs and a whole lot of forgetable dreck. I don't even own it. Thanks I'll check it out. I own 4 or so greatest hits album, plus a smattering of songs from various other albums...

Although they didn't specify what songs/records they were thinking of, some of later year Queen would not be fit for this festival. I am sure Hot Space was in their minds. But even songs from The Game moved away from rock. You can't call Crazy Little Thing Called Love anything but a snappy pop tune.

No, it didn't offer Twitter as an option. Like you, I generally use Twitter for Adam stuff and keep Facebook for family ... I created a separate facebook account just for Adam "business" :D - VH1 voting, vevo viewing, etc. ....same with twitter account I know a lot of people have done this, but every time I try to do something like this I end up posting to the wrong place from the right account, or vice versa ... :-[

If you live anywhere in the New England area please do the Kiss 108 Rate the music. ratethemusic.com/signup.cgi/wxks?rtmref= As you all know Boston is a top 10 market and Kiss is Boston's biggest top40 station by far. Better Than I Know Myself is one of the songs to be rated. It's Kiss's own private RTM. Make sure you are in theirs and not the national one. If you are asked if you are familiar with a song then you are in the wrong one. I just did their Kiss's Rate the Music but BTIKM wasn't one of the songs I had to rate. ???

Brian May's statement, "We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there," was an extremely unwise thing to say, from a psychology standpoint. It is a classic set up. It makes me wonder if they are the ones who set fans up to reject their new singers and maybe they need to get out of their own way. This is not about Adam helping them attain the greatness of Freddie's last gig and to say that is the goal is an expectation trap. Brian May read some psychology books p l e a s e. Telling people that you are trying to attain the greatness of someone's last gig in life is just c.r.a.z.y. That is a trap for any singer. IMHO Brian May needs to get his head straight about his and Queen's goals. Maybe he has not been able to move beyond Freddie and if he can't, how can anyone else. He needs some of Adam's psychological smarts.
If this is going to be about Freddie's last gig then it needs to be called a tribute.

That is why I would list it in my "novelty" category And it was more the disco designation I was objecting to. I edited my previous post to add: For me Brian's guitar is as much (or more!) the essence of Queen as Freddie's voice, and as disco lacks guitar it simply doesn't compute to hear them referenced as pop/disco.
