Here are a couple of Fan Tribute versions of Closer. They are older but they are great! AND FOR ALL THE ADOMMY FANS: I never like this Adommy or Kradam... : : . Adam said fanfic's not good. This fanfic's only in some people's mind! Just saying. Of course, it is. That's why it's called fic. Adam didn't say they weren't good, he just made a joke about them. I've never gotten into them, nor into Adam and Tommy nor Kris, but I think this video was supposed to be a joke. I thought it was fun and have seen some hotter Adommy videos, but won't post just because no need. Anyone who cares knows how to find them.

And that is the concern of the metal dudes. Although they didn't specify what songs/records they were thinking of, some of later year Queen would not be fit for this festival. I am sure Hot Space was in their minds. But even songs from The Game moved away from rock. You can't call Crazy Little Thing Called Love anything but a snappy pop tune. That is why I would list it in my "novelty" category And it was more the disco designation I was objecting to. I edited my previous post to add: For me Brian's guitar is as much (or more!) the essence of Queen as Freddie's voice, and as disco lacks guitar it simply doesn't compute to hear them referenced as pop/disco. True. Disco might have been a cruel word to use. Honestly anything from the early 80's that wasn't punk/ska/alternative fell into the dreaded disco category for me. I still use that term for any music that I think isn't up to par. I loved being a musical snob back then and still am today.

Brian May's statement, "We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there," was an extremely unwise thing to say, from a psychology standpoint. It is a classic set up. It makes me wonder if they are the ones who set fans up to reject their new singers and maybe they need to get out of their own way. This is not about Adam helping them attain the greatness of Freddie's last gig and to say that is the goal is an expectation trap. Brian May read some psychology books p l e a s e. Telling people that you are trying to attain the greatness of someone's last gig in life is just c.r.a.z.y. That is a trap for any singer. IMHO Brian May needs to get his head straight about his and Queen's goals. Maybe he has not been able to move beyond Freddie and if he can't, how can anyone else. He needs some of Adam's psychological smarts. Sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with what Brian said. If he said that the performance would "definitely" equal (or surpass) their last concert with Freddie, then I would be worried. But Brian said he "hoped" that they could do as well, and even went on to say that it would be a big challenge: “Adam Lambert is a phenomenal singer and the sound is amazing at Sonisphere. We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there. It’s a challenge but then again that’s life.”Also, don't forget Brian is promoting a gig for Queen. What should Brian have said ... something like "we know it will never equal what we did with Freddie, but what the hell we're gonna do it anyway. So, come on out and pay to see a less-than-memorable show."? LOL. And as far as mentioning Freddie at all, I don't think Brian and Roger have a choice. A lot of Queen fans are aware of the connection to Knebworth and that 1986 concert, so the questions were bound to come up. I don't think dodging the issue is an option. So, under the circumstances his comments make sense IMHO.

This is so very true.

What kind of feeling you have? hard to say what it is about, could be just about anything .... what bothers me on these Tutka vids is that Sauli hears Katri's voice with a delay, and that makes it feel like Sauli cannot hear everything Katri is saying. But we will hear next week, what the news is.

Are we still trying to create a push to donate on the 29th? Is there a plan? Peeps on twitter to focus on which days/which hashtag/which strategies? Non-twitter folks to sign up to post info on specific other boards that they visit? Etc. My experience trying to push donations for Valentine's Day left me feeling that a more organized effort with more people involved would be helpful. And, obviously, lots of repetition of the message is needed. Thanks in advance if you can clue me into what has been planned. peace&love
