Sorry if this is a dumb question, but since it looks like Adam is doing an interview on this show does this mean that we are guaranteed a spin for BTIKM? Would be nice to get a spin for once without having to tweet, text or whack something!

Thank you mia and zinnia!! Yes, thanks for giving us all the opportunity to read the translations. And I wonder what bit of news Sauli is holding onto for a future announcement?

Would be nice to get a spin for once without having to tweet, text or whack something! I don't know if it does. I think I remembered hearing one of these question answer things on SNOL before and I don't think I heard the band's song spun. However, it's a great time to do an extra requesting push for SNOL

Brian May's statement, "We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there," was an extremely unwise thing to say, from a psychology standpoint. It is a classic set up. It makes me wonder if they are the ones who set fans up to reject their new singers and maybe they need to get out of their own way. This is not about Adam helping them attain the greatness of Freddie's last gig and to say that is the goal is an expectation trap. Brian May read some psychology books p l e a s e. Telling people that you are trying to attain the greatness of someone's last gig in life is just c.r.a.z.y. That is a trap for any singer. IMHO Brian May needs to get his head straight about his and Queen's goals. Maybe he has not been able to move beyond Freddie and if he can't, how can anyone else. He needs some of Adam's psychological smarts. Sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with what Brian said. If he said that the performance would "definitely" equal (or surpass) their last concert with Freddie, then I would be worried. But Brian said he "hoped" that they could do as well, and even went on to say that it would be a big challenge: “Adam Lambert is a phenomenal singer and the sound is amazing at Sonisphere. We hope to reach the greatness of Freddie’s last gig there. It’s a challenge but then again that’s life.”Also, don't forget Brian is promoting a gig for Queen. What should Brian have said ... something like "we know it will never equal what we did with Freddie, but what the hell we're gonna do it anyway. So, come on out and pay to see a less-than-memorable show."? LOL. And as far as mentioning Freddie at all, I don't think Brian and Roger have a choice. A lot of Queen fans are aware of the connection to Knebworth and that 1986 concert, so the questions were bound to come up. I don't think dodging the issue is an option. So, under the circumstances his comments make sense IMHO. iridium ^^^I have no problem with Brian's statements. In fact, I appreciate his words, and think his comments are spot on. 8-)

ITA ^^ ETA: "For me Brian's guitar is as much (or more!) the essence of Queen as Freddie's voice, and as disco lacks guitar it simply doesn't compute to hear them referenced as pop/disco." This is so very true. Add me to the Brian's guitar club! And when I read the article abbout him in RS's 100 greatest guitar players, it confirmed my opinion!
