Are people really expecting a lot of metal fans at this concert. Sonisphere may typically be a metal festival, but it sure isn't this year. Queen is headlining, and they are hardly metal ( a lot of their stuff sounds like pop rock) I Would think people would decide to go according to the line-up.

LOL at all these rock blogs n shit srsly "debating" this MOST CONTROVERSIAL AND EARTH SHATTERING NEWS!!! LOLOLOL They need to chill. IT'S ONE CONCERT. I mean there could be more but at this point Adam is not joining the band, he is just stepping in as a guest vocal. Period. What is there really to debate? They need a voice, he provides it. Him stepping in doesn't alter the history of the band, doesn't make their songs and legacy better or worse. It's just going to be a moment in time for the band to put on a show and for ppl to enjoy their music live. That's about it. Its not something that truly needs all this deep discussion and hand wringing. And excuse me...he sings with too much vibratto? And Freddie wasn't operatic? HELLOOOOOOOO. BUELLER!!! Also have to lol at the "without Freddie it's pointless" right before wondering whether or not Mark Martel--who they say sounds eerily like Freddie--is a better choice. Ummm, so it's pointless without Freddie UNLESS you have the cheapo knock off version of Freddie? LOL Wouldn't that be worse? Srsly. These intense rock/metal fans are...intense. And not in a good way. As someone once said....IT AIN'T THAT DEEP. But overall that post wasn't that bad....still it's a hell of a lot of tongue wagging for something that may never happen again--a full out concert I mean. Watch--they will slay the perf and we'll have people going OH THEY SHOULD DO THAT AGAIN! but they won't and then they'll be sadz. Hee chunkey... notice that Queen's PR stating and Roger said that Sonisphere's the only concert in the UK.... ... girl can dream ;D ;D

Maybe Cassie or one of the other peeps with much more singing knowledge than me can help me out? The thing I find so strange about the vibrato complaint with regard to Adam is that in stanning him since Idol and hearing pretty much every ridic complaint under the sun about him, I don't recall this particular one ever being brought up until after the EMA's. And the first time I remember seeing it was on MJ's from one of the usual suspects, and then it spread like wildfire, even to here.
I'm not saying people are wrong and he's not using vibrato, but why hasn't this been an issue before? Did Freddie not use a vibrato at all and with that yardstick it's more apparent? Or did I just miss previous criticism of this in particular performances?
I'm curious if anyone that lurked over at the DDD forums remembers Adam's vibrato being a point of contention in the technical skills discussion, it seems like before the overenthusiastic fan invasion they examined Adam's skills microsopically.

From the comments of this YT "I thought I was going to hate it. I didn't. I'm kinda glad they chose someone so flamboyant, 'cause that was Freddie." ETA: had to embed, this is just so great Oh.. I forgot to answer the question (yesterday or the day before yesterday?) re where Adam went so much out that his voice broke - it is at 2:48 in this recording ...unless you think he did that on purpose... your thoughts... I'm not sure I know what people are referring to. But in the middle of "shoooooooow" he reforms his vowel and adds rasp right before he heads up to the high note. If that is what is being discussed, I totally think that is on purpose.

Adam said that his current ring tone is "Another One Bites the Dust" so I have a feeling that might be on the setlist...I would love to hear that! That one is a bugger to sing in the pre-chorus part! Adam has hit higher notes but the phrasing is sooo tricky and you need a lot of rasp to pull it off convincingly. Are you going to the concert? ;D I hope you get to meet some of the US family if you do! ;D

Are we really sure that BTIKM didn't get the votes for the Feb. 18th countdown? There was some discussion of a time delay and it seemed like BTIKM was added to the countdown voting on a later date than it first appeared on their site. Also I wanted to plug again the MuchMusic New Music Live Top 5 weekly vote. Adam was #11 this week, it would be great it he got into the Top 5 next week. Any Canadian's know if this countdown is broadcast, and if they go below the Top 5? www.newmusiclive.ca/playlists/#TheTop5
