I just finished watching that 2 hour Queen doc. Wow, I didn't know their entire story. It's a really big deal that they BELIEVE in Adam enough to have him perform with them. They have seen it all, done it all, been there for it all.....they picked Adam. WE know why. The rest of the world is going to find out. I was crying by the end of that show. So powerful. I loved hearing what Brian and Roger had to say about their journey. Wow, just wow. I'm just finishing it too and am cracking up because David Bowie actually invented Tebowing. LOL During the Freddie tribute concert he spontaneously dropped to one knee and recited "The Lords Prayer". HAHAHAHAHAHA

Oops I guess I didn't make my point clear, I think noreaster is right that after the EMA's the "vibrato accusation" probably started with a troll at TWOP, quickly spread to MJ's and then as it usually happens became a handy drum that certain people kept beating loudly in order to put an Adam performance down. But I just don't remember anyone seizing on it before in the 3 years of countless sessions of what-can we-bash-Adam-about-this-time at the usual Idol hangouts. I remember Daughtry being accused of sounding goat-like, but never Adam. So I'm curious if anyone remembers any discussion at DDD before the EMA's ever happened of any performance where they thought Adam's vibrato was too pronounced or whatever. Oh, I get it now. It does seem odd that people are criticizing the vibrato, when he has always had it, and it is one of the things that makes his voice so compelling. I have a theory --- just a theory. In TSMGO, Freddie does use some vibrato, but he cuts notes and phrases shorter than Adam does, so it is not as noticeable. I think the purists were surprised to hear it. But, more basically, I think that the EMA performance was so strong, Adam's voice was so present, he hit all the notes Freddie hit and then some, he did more with the vocals than Freddie did, he looked so powerful, he ate up the stage. What could you possibly find to fault in that performance? And fault one must find, or one is being disloyal to Freddie. How can one say that the EMA performance was as good, as enjoyable, as moving, as powerful, as compelling as Freddie at his finest? And how could Adam Lambert, a reality TV star actually sound better and out-sing the Queen King, Freddie Mercury? So, one attacks the vibrato. See? There! Lambert messed it up. Too much bleating vibrato. Don't like the performance. Do you think that is a plausible explanation? I think your theory has merit! Srsly, it was sort of astounding to me how quickly the vibrato criticism proliferated after the EMA's, when to my untutored ear it really didn't sound significantly different from other balls to wall performances over the last 3 years.

I will begin the process of the rest. And rest well.

I was watching a documentary about Queen and found it very interesting: Three fun facts: 1. Brian May does not like the song " Don't stop me now" ~49:19 2. NME trashed Queen and Freddie 3. Radio Gaga is actually Radio Caca based on a sentence Roger Taylor's kid kept repeating thanks for bringing this over, I grew up with Queen but there was so much that I never knew or had forgotten. And after watching this I am even more in awe that Queen asked Adam to perform with them on such a grand occasion. I bet it will be one of the shining moments of his life.
