(You know what would be so great? If Adam were to tweet the Chokehold lyrics to that Kathyrn17 girl who, I think, organized his virtual birthday card thingie and has been trying to get the lyrics firmed up, too.) Oh that would be beautiful. What a wonderful idea. |

And what do you think of these remixes coming now? Is this a CHR compromise? Will this take the place of a new single?? Hmmmmmm Why would you think that? It's standard operating procedure for Adam. Both WWFM and IIHY had remix EP's released. I would have been more surprised if we hadn't gotten remixes. All the other remixes came out after the album. I just thought getting remixes before the album and before a possible 2nd single was odd timing, that's all. We do? ??? Do you mean eventually or do you mean soon- ish? |

It seems to me that pretty much everybody releases remixes of their singles so I just don't see how it has anything to do with trying to get CHR play. |

Finally getting to listen to the new songs and like many of you I love Chokehold.
For me, Adam’s melodic interpretation of songs is what draws me to certain ones.
When I first heard WWFM it wasn’t my favourite by a long shot because he had been confined to singing it like Pink’s version, and it just didn’t sound enough like an Adam song to me. Acoustic performances of it, where Adam could change up the melody, changed how I felt about the song.
Last night there was a tweet about Chokehold sounding Citizen Vein like, and I totally got how that person arrived at that thought. It is the way he weaves his way through a melody ( thinking Chalice and AVoid here) that this person was hearing. Adam’s melody interpretation is IMHO second only to his vocal skill, and his vocal skill allows him to take chances with the melodies in a way that a lesser vocalist could not.
I’ve heard average vocalists that never stray from an intended melody or go totally off the rails when attempting to do so, and they will never stand out for me.
I want to hear more Adam songs and want Adam to have the ability to never be told how to sing a song again. He absolutely shines when he can do his songs, his way. Shine on Adam!

I am finally thru the thread....... OMG!! These songs are as good as I hoped/dreamed/imaged. Cuckoo belongs on worldwide radio NOW!! And Chokehold is a masterpiece. Great to get some real ADAM music!!! ***** now off to listen to these songs again and to update page 1 ******* ETA: On BTIKM -- IMO it is not really suitable for Top 40 Pop radio -- it is an adult pop song -- so it will do OK but can't rack up the big numbers to be a monster radio hit. I think the radio performance of BTIKM is about the song, not the artist or the screwy promotion. The next single will be a solid pop track and we'll see what happens. If it is Cuckoo, it will be at least a Top 10 hit in the US and Canada. And my money is it will be bigger than WWFM -- and with the focus on radio Adam is doing much bigger than WWFM.Regarding WWFM -- in the US -- it picked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, at #13 on the Billboard Radio chart. A top 10 radio hit in the US is something Adam does not have yet. But WWFM is now a radio standard and has massive lifetime airplay -- even in the US. Sometimes peak position can be deceptive. WWFM was a big hit. If Cuckoo has the potential to be such a big radio hit, why are they still looking for radio friendly singles? I am afraid they will chicken out and give us something not as interesting. Also I really really like Chokehold even with the lousy sound so I am sure it is going to be fantastic on the album. |
