Finally getting to listen to the new songs and like many of you I love Chokehold. For me, Adam’s melodic interpretation of songs is what draws me to certain ones. When I first heard WWFM it wasn’t my favourite by a long shot because he had been confined to singing it like Pink’s version, and it just didn’t sound enough like an Adam song to me. Acoustic performances of it, where Adam could change up the melody, changed how I felt about the song. Last night there was a tweet about Chokehold sounding Citizen Vein like, and I totally got how that person arrived at that thought. It is the way he weaves his way through a melody ( thinking Chalice and AVoid here) that this person was hearing. Adam’s melody interpretation is IMHO second only to his vocal skill, and his vocal skill allows him to take chances with the melodies in a way that a lesser vocalist could not. I’ve heard average vocalists that never stray from an intended melody or go totally off the rails when attempting to do so, and they will never stand out for me. I want to hear more Adam songs and want Adam to have the ability to never be told how to sing a song again. He absolutely shines when he can do his songs, his way. Shine on Adam! Oh, I hadn't thought of it . . . but it does sound a little Citizen Vein-ISH to me, too, now that you mention it. The only "connection" it had for me to something else was . . . Nirvana. Is that weird? Something about the guitar in it, I think, reminded me of parts of "Teen Spirit". (Is everyone going ??? :  :-/ right now?) |

On the second single -- radio execs are being told that there will be another single soon but that it is not selected yet and will be a few weeks.
There is no doubt that RCA will release at least 2 singles from Trespassing -- I expect to see at least 2 more singles. The only question is timing.
Assuming the album release date is April 30 -- not "packaged", manufactured or shipped yet so that seems about right to me -- they have weeks.
BTIKM is gaining airplay so there is no reason to rush a new single out. Could be that the UK market drives the scheduled release date.
My guess -- prob wrong -- US/Canada #2 single to stations week of 4/2/12, impact date of 4/16-17 makes sense to me.
