Thank you for sharing that GREAT conversation with the DJ, Hoopla! You were smart to take notes! How many times do we have to hear "we've never had a response like this to anyone!" before they start playing his music? I admit that I don't listen to the radio very much--but when I do have it on, I hear the same songs that I heard the last time I had it on. I am dying for that to be true about one of Adam's songs, but so far I feel lucky if I hear it once!

I've been listening to radio in the car a lot lately (I think HAC). Not having listened for (clears throat) decades, I was pretty skeptical that I would like much music. I have now come to the conclusion that it is not the songs themselves that bother me (some I like, some not--just like anyone), it's the sheer frequency of repetition that annoys me. I guess that has always been true. : I just like more variety. But I don't feel guilty when I put in my occasional requests because I actually am listening. So now I am primed and ready for the album--want to hear him more on the radio!!!

NoAngel, that's the big mystery for me too. The only thing I came up with, in my mind, is that they were hoping conservative areas and conservative stations would do a turn around on their attitude about Adam from the FYE era. I think that worked because the areas that were early adders have been some of the most conservative in the country.
Rihannsu I understand your point about BTIKM being a good way to introduce the light and dark concept of the album, but IMO, the best PR for the album would have been a Top 10 CHR hit.

Hoopla--I'm glad you rewrote your phone report. It was great. How frustrating to have deleted it last night when you first attempted. Feels scream worthy when that happens.

My feeling on Chokehold (LOVE this song) is that it would be the type of song that fits very easily into the CHR chart between #20 and #10. It's not going to be a top 10 smash, but it's very modern sounding and would do well. And, of course, it could smash on HAC. Now, though, I don't see it as being a potential single unless Trespassing is very successful and Adam gets maybe 4 singles released. In other words, it's probably a number 3 or 4 single (e will probably have two more uptempo songs out first. I agree, he needs 2 upbeat songs in a row, then maybe a ballady song. Let's hope single #2 does REALLY well so that we get that 3rd single! I am actually hoping for 4 singles. I know this is being way overly optimistic, but I hope the album does well enough to get 5-6 singles. From the media blogs and Adam, they talk about Cuckoo, Trespassing, Naked Luv, NCOE as being possible singles, and then there's the ballady single as should be a song like Chokehold or even Underneath, if it's good enough to resonate people as in a Someone Like You vibey way. So when you add in BTIKM, that's at least 6 singles. But I know that Adam will only get that, if the album stays in the Top 200, mainly Top 50 for a very long time. So here's hoping.

I remember last summer when I had to stay in my living room for a whole day due to renovations and I had the radio on for the entire day, tuned in to one station. It's amazing how few songs over the day they play. Also...most radio DJs are horrible to listen to for a longer period of time.
