Different topic:
This morning I happen to go to mtv.com, I had not heard the EMA performance in a while and since the last couple of months a regular search with 'Adam Lambert Queen' brings the video up without problem. What I noticed is the jump in viewership over the last 2 weeks.
In the early days of Nov/Dec, people mostly went to youtube, until pretty much everything had been taken down. This video here, was not often called upon, because nobody could find it via search. Then in Jan, Feb new views trickled off to a few hundred a day and numbers crawled around 65 - 75K or in that ballpark. Right now the video shows almost 135K, the links to Queen websites and the Sonisphere website have brought new viewers in numbers similar to what we as fan base initially put up.
Nice to see.

Not only is Adele killing it week after week, but One Direction is releasing on 3/20/12. And the amount of publicity these kids are getting is insane. They are everywhere, so my suspicion is that Adam would again have ended up in slot #3 at that date. Anyhow, it is water under the bridge, we do not have to worry about that anymore. Now the question just becomes, who will he have to contend with, once that date is finally set? Does anyone know where to look up the major album releases planned for April and May? I don't expect Adam to be #1. I am hoping for sustained sales! And he needs the singles for that to happen. I would be happy with 20 weeks in the Top 10 on Pop radio!!  ETA: Artists often preview new album tracks live to generate buzz for upcoming albums. Here is one example: www.nme.com/news/the-killers/38526Recently Daughtry did it. Lady Gaga has done it multiple times. Springsteen did it. The odd thing to me was Adam was at a radio promo and did not perform BTIKM -- the song being promoted. I cannot recall a radio showcase like this that did not include a performance of the single. ETA: I lost my mind -- I meant in the midst of radio promo and does a showcase that does not include the current single he is promoting. |

Well, unless she is getting married in DC (doubt it), I don't think Adam is going. Since he just arrived here, there is pretty much no way he is leaving again for a wedding and then coming back for Monday's promo events. I sort of doubt he would have been singing at her wedding anyway. To me, that would seem sort of weird. He sang at Brooke's but since we know he is in DC now, moot point.  I didn't realize he did sing at Brooke's wedding. Hmm... to me that seems weird (having your friends perform at wedding), but that's just me. Anyway - you are right - moot point. It does seem odd that he didn't go. Sort of makes me sad. He's been working so hard and away from family, friends, Sauli, that it would have been really nice for him to have been able to spend that special time with them. I hope he has something fun planned for the w/e in DC. |
