I just requested BTIKM at my local station KLLC San Francisco, and when I told her I wanted to request BTIKM by Adam Lambert, she said, "Of course you do.. ".. hmmm odd thing for her to say.. hope that means she's getting lots of requests or it! ;D I have noticed - and this is JMHO - that when I call in and actually get to talk with the DJ in these contests that they have this tone with me as well. It's like they can tell you are not their demographic. Maybe I should have my teen nieces and nephews on the phone. Faster fingers and poor grammar. KBFF has taken to asking an Adam question (what song was he nominated for at the Grammys...what song did he sing at his AI audition) so the nieces and nephews would probably fail since they only tolerate Adam because of me. willowgarden When they were taking my details after I won the tickets in Portland, they asked my "birthday". Now they know how old I am, I hope that doesn't mean they will seat me at the back ;D ;D

Now the question just becomes, who will he have to contend with, once that date is finally set? Does anyone know where to look up the major album releases planned for April and May? Pause & Play is one site that I've checked in the past for upcoming CD info: www.pauseandplay.com/ But there are probably other, better sites that update more quickly. Here are some of the releases they list from mid-April through the end of May (I only included pop artists, or artists who seemed relevant to Adam, or who might have decent first week sales): April 17Eric Hutchinson Jason Mraz Train April 24Jack White May 1B.o.B Norah Jones Marilyn Manson Lisa Marie Presley Santigold Carrie Underwood Rufus Wainwright May 8Chris Brown Keane May 15Garbage Willie Nelson Santana Ryan Shaw Tenacious D May 22The Cult John Mayer John McLaughlin Slash I stopped there because I figured RCA would want the album out before the Idol season ends. As of now, April 24 seems like the best bet, and it's just clear of retrograde. But, unfortunately for us (but maybe better promo-wise), based on the things Adam has said lately, it sounds like the album might drop in May, so perhaps May 15 would be the next best choice. Thanks so much. So it looks like May 1, May 8 and May 22 are the ones where you would have major competition, especially May 1 is hopeless. Good to have this info, and I know, things can change, so this info is not final, but it is good start to know what Adam has to work with or 'against'. Does look like there is room for somebody like him to shine and get some solid attention. Thanks again ======== Thanks also Rihannsu for the English lesson, I had no idea Wondering now how many times I wrote this wrong in my life without anybody telling me. It's funny, because I actually thought...wow I have no idea whether it is spelled this way, but there is no comparable phrase in German that I could have used to get this translation out of a translator, so tbh...I just did not spend any time to dig around and just sent it into the ether the way it was. As in, this is not a resume or something, so what. People here often don't know 'their' from 'there' or similar mistakes, so I just was not spending more time on it. Well, now I know how to spell it...had never heard or read of 'moot', at least I don't recall ever seeing it. Lots of stuff you learn here online. Such a smart community!

I've rounded up an attractive young lady from work to stand by in case I win something. Hoping the station will take one look at her and put her up front with her older friend. 8-)

So, a few days ago there was this big twitter storm about some fans who were more lively during the interview section at a Houston radio station and as far as I observed, this one poor lady was totally chewed out on twitter for being a bit more forward and loud. I thought it was all harmless and was glad to have an interactive audience there, but clearly others were disturbed. Now we get this video, where the whole performance from Adam is disturbed by folks who clearly think that their voices are more important to hear on radio than Adam's : ......and nobody says a peep? To me, THIS is rude...and utterly unreasonable. This is not your private living room guys, where you can sing away as you please, I want to hear Adam not you. So, I have no idea why people are not disturbed by this, but are outraged at that one woman in Houston....clearly I am missing something...

Could it be that is what they are looking for? New young fans might not know this, but just that they like the song?

Well for one thing, I didn't see this video, as I think some others might have not either, being that a lot of people are probably kind of tired of seeing the acoustic performances, especially WWFM, as we seen it oh so many times. Most people wanted to see the interviews, in hopes of maybe something new coming up. So, of course, this might have gone unnoticed...

See, that the thing I think it is one of those mistakes that people make because no one has ever bothered to correct them on it. I have another funny story along similar lines. Years ago I used to be involved in the dog show world and there was a big time handler who did a lot of seminars who miss used the word "jest". The proper word for what she meant was "gist". Now it actually could have been a pronunciation issue because she did have a pretty heavy drawl and I've never seen anything she wrote using the word but I noticed after a while that an awful lot of dog show folks who didn't share her accent were using the word jest instead of gist. Just goes to show how mistakes spread and also how languages mutate.
