Hmm, a lot of us seems to be speculating, thinking that Adam is being sort of a rebel, trying to pressure RCA into releasing a different song for single, but has anyone thought that maybe RCA is alright with this, or a part of this too? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember that Clive Davis had Alicia Keys back when she was just coming out, she was playing her music in underground clubs, as well as i remember Lady Gaga doing the same thing. Maybe it's a strategy thing, letting the song spread by word of mouth, seeing what the people respond too, getting the word out about the music amongst peers, amongst the people, other then just the too hip, or stuffy music critics. Just a thought.. I agree. I think Adam is too smart to go behind the back of RCA and possibly piss them off. He knows how to play the game with people in power. I agree with both of you. Adam is always singing the praises of the team and that they value his input. Why would he jeopardize that with sneaking out to play the songs in a club? All of this has to be part of the plan for the release.

Not to jump on anybody, but it seems, well at least with the Idol people, that fans think that the record company is constantly forcing the idols to do music that they don't want to do, and that they have to constantly fight to get themselves heard. I also think that there's a little projection going on there too

Thanks y'all for the lovely birthday wishes.. You make me feel so GOOD. Did I dream this or did some DJ from Z100 NY,get angry at us or Adam and say he wouldn't play Adam's music? I'm always checking out my sanity. Also RCA seems to have no balls. Didn't they delay both Kelly Clarkson's album and David Cook's album for a long while ,before they let them out?I remember fans kept saying where's David's album. I believe RCA made him change the songs, finally when the album came out ,it had lost momentum. Adam will never let that happen. My personal and probably wrong feeling is that Adam has had it with the stalling and is going public to pressure RCA to move. Especially in regards to his own music.Just my gut feeling... IMHO I think we need to ask RCA to get out Adam's music...where is ED??? Kelly's album was delayed because too many divas were coming out all around her original release date. So for Kelly it was a strategy move that paid off big time. David's album was delayed because he wasn't finished. The single and album timing was exactly the way it has been for all of RCAs people, 6-8 weeks before the album for the single. Losing momentum had nothing to do with David's album not making it. Now, with all that being said, I do think that Adam is anxious and ready and trying out these songs as a single. Whether it is for his satisfaction or to show RCA how great they are received, I don't know. I have noticed over the past 3 years, Adam rarely does random things! I think it fits perfectly into NoAngel's brilliant essay. Strategy indeed!! BTW, his shirt was sparkly for the Jezebel event. I think Adam's idea of "no glam" and ours is completely different! ETA: Ooops, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

I love NoAngel's essay. Here's the thing though, during GNT when Adam was doing all those radio visits along the way he also dressed in T-shirts and jeans except for the ones that happened right before show time. I do remember that at EVERY ONE of those where he showed up in normal clothes the DJ's were taken aback and expressed surprise that he wasn't all Glammed up. He tried to get across the point that he doesn't were stage clothes in real life (except when he does LOL) but it just didn't seem to translate. I think THAT is what made him realize that the only part of him that was coming across was the stage persona and that he needed to somehow be a real person to people. I know at one point he kind of commented on the fact that Gaga never lets anybody see behind the mask and that he thought she needed to let people in a bit more. I think what he found was that as great fun as the OTT was it tended to be what stuck strongest in people's heads and that wasn't always to his advantage. He's done the wild thing and spread his wings as he put it but now he needs us to SEE that there is more to him than that OTT wild child. WE get it and he knows that but the general public hasn't looked that deep. Trespassing will get the general public to see the "boy next door" under the guyliner the way that we have from the beginning and in many ways the depth of our passion and support has given him the security to do that. I don't usually tend to offer up opinions on what is going on in Adams head, but this really resonates with me. I agree with this theory.
