Apparently it jumped from below 1000 to 300s today. Just goes to show you, that if a song is not on the radio, it won't get that huge of a bump when sung on Idol, at least not enough to propel it to the Top 100/200. That's about how high BTIKM got when he performed on Leno and Ellen. So all of the people who wanted Adam to debut a new song on Idol. I can't imagine a bigger platform for a debut than AI stage... where else can you get those audience numbers? In any case - judging by today's interviews - the NEW single is coming ...soon... the thought of having BTIKM behind us makes me happy! |

Out of sheer curiosity, Daughtry performed a new song on Idol last night---anyone know what kind of an iTunes bump he got? Apparently it jumped from below 1000 to 300s today. high 400s last night, mid 300s this morning, 284 right now. I have been monitoring! ;D |

Oprah, but it isn't around anymore. :( Certain awards shows can cause massive bumps or even jumpstart a debut single in a big way, but the artist has to knock it out of the ball park with their performance. It would help if BTIKM was in the top 10 or 15 on HAC and in the top 40 (at least) on Pop. Then, it MIGHT be in the top 100 on itunes and that could mean a nice push for the song to go higher on the charts and move up pretty high on itunes. Otherwise, we are going to be looking at your usual Thurs-Sat sales bump and that won't really help the song in the long run. If I were King of RCA,  I would wait and see where BTIKM is at a week before the AI performance. If it was still in the 300-400s on itunes and nowhere to be found on CHR, I would take the golden opportunity to debut the new single and promote the album coming out soon(ish).  It could give the new single the start that BTIKM didn't have. Most people will just think that is his first single and that might not be a bad thing! |

I agree, tigerlily. What he sings on Idol will totally depend on where BTIKM is at the time. Of course, if the new single is out already, then it's a given that he will sing that. Since he said the new single is very, very close maybe that is what he will sing at NNN awards! ETA: BTW, these are the only possible dates left that Adam could appear on Idol. All other dates either have another Idol already announced or Adam's schedule makes it impossible. 4/19 4/26 5/3 5/10 5/17 <<< Not sure about this date because this will be the night they do the Top 3s Home Town visits and i can't remember if they even have a musical guest that night? |

When does Carrie Underwood's album drop? Because my guess is that she will be on AI that week.

IMO 5/10 would be perfect. Single #2 will have been out a few weeks and will be somewhat familiar. I am assuming a lot that the single will be out @ mid-April. ;D |
