The interview was cute - I agree. But am I the only one who thinks the mix was off for BTIKM? The guitar was way too loud! <-------too much! Yeah I agree the mix was off and the guitar was way to loud. Keep in mind this was not Tommy's fault. What we are hearing is the feed directly off the audio mixer, and whoever was running it wasn't paying attention to the record mix. The mix that was heard in the room, and the mix that Tommy and Adam was hearing may having been totally fine, as the record mix is completely independent of what they heard, and they were probably not even aware the record mix was not balanced correctly. ok made a post here but seeing is a dead horse have deleted it save this bit... #teamkevin and ymmv and that's cool. ;D ;D ;D

This is my first time posting here. I have been lurking here for months and loved the friendly bantor and comments on this site which is why I finally decided to join. Unfortunately, lately I am seeing a lot of negative comments regarding Adam's band (i.e. Tommy) that have me thinking maybe I shouldn't be a part of this group. This is becoming just like what is going on on Twitter and is very unsettling. I come to this site to read positive comments, not negative. I understand that some people like Kevin more than Tommy and vice versa. I like them both - Kevin as the keyboardist and musical director and Tommy as the guitarist. They are both very talented. They also happen to have different personalities. So what! They are both part of Adam's band and neither deserve any negative comments (i.e. "heavy handed"). I would love to be able to continue to come to this site and read about all of the awesome things that are happening with Adam and read all of the love we have for him. This site is supposed to be all about supporting Adam right?! I hope this site can stay positive and not become another Twitter like forum. Thanks! WELCOME AND AMEN SISTAH!

Welcome and since you pin-pointed my comment (ie heavy handed) allow me to say I like Tommy. I thought he was fine on bass. I'm sure he's fine on electric guitar but for me (personally) his acoustic guitar work isn't as nuanced and subtle as Kevin's and IMO the songs just sound better that way. It gives them an enhanced vulnerability and emotion.

I think Adam has the perfect band for the type music he is going to be playing. His new additions are a funky bass and a musical director with the chops to be a jack of all instruments as well as his coordinating the electronic elements, layering, etc. They're fine IMO. Tommy is fine as well. Frankly, Adam's is not a rock band with extended guitar solos and riff heavy songs. He's playing pop- electro/funky/dancey pop ans heartfelt ballads. Tommy is more than capable for the position Adam put him in.
As far as Tommy's recent demeanor, for me it would be no surprise if he changed the way he presented himself both on stage as well as informally. He's in a new stage of his life as well, and perhaps some of the cray fostered during GNT and since has caused him to rethink a thing or two, and that is IMO not a bad thing. JMO.
