Whew! Lotta stuff to get through here today! I think I spent 10 minutes watching Q3's YEAAAAA's scroll across the screen. : I finally saw the Toby interview & agree that Adam handled Toby very well. He deflected all the personal stuff & kept it upbeat & focused on the music. That's our boy! Schufly & Hoppers - SO HAPPY you got to see Adam perform & did the M&G thing! The conversation with Tommy McFly was really COOL - I guess the smaller stations DO have some clout after all. Interesting! Is the Toby K interview on YouTube? I can't get the other links to play. Thanks Schufly, I think we talked about this before - I feel the same way about the M&G stuff. It's just really weird & I feel like I'd probably embarrass myself in front of him. I honestly don't need to "meet" Adam. I just want to sit in a room & hear him SING. NO OFFENSE to those of you who want to meet him! Actually, getting a hug from Adam would be a pretty cool thing! ;D

When asked to do a third song, Adam said Tommy only knew the two they had done? I missed that. But, it is totally possible, guys. Yes, he has played all the GNT songs..... on the bass. He filled in for Monte a couple of times, but that was lead/rhythm guitar as part of an ensemble. The part would be very different from playing a solo guitar accompaniment for a singer acoustically. Of course Tommy is familiar with the songs, but, he may not have worked out guitar arrangements for them. It would be like asking him to play a song he has heard on the radio many times, but has never tried to play himself. It is just not something most musicians would be comfortable doing "off the cuff." Imagine that you worked with a team on a project at work. Your contribution was valuable. You were familiar with the scope of the project over all, but not with the details and contributions of each member of the team. If you had suddenly, without warning, been asked to give a formal presentation on the project to an audience, you probably wouldn't quite know where to start. Very few of you would be prepared to do such a presentation. Add to that, Adam is a perfectionist. He prepares and rehearses seriously. He would have worked with Tommy and with Kevin on song keys, tempos, pauses, intros, endings, and interpretations. I cannot imagine him just launching into a song cold, with no prep or rehearsal with any accompanist, even if it were a musician he had worked with in the past. So, no criticism of Tommy in his comment. Just the way things are with performing. I agree Adam would want his songs prepared and love your post, Cassie! On one occasion, tho, didn't Adam and Kevin do 'Fever' on the fly? I remember Adam introducing it like..well, here we go..and it was great! I admired they could do that together. Jamming.. I remember that. I sorta doubt that it was totally "on the fly" tho, despite what Adam said. I suspect Adam had at least heard Kevin playing Fever and had jammed with him a bit on it. Also, I think Kevin has a much stronger music theory and music training background. My sister has college degrees in music, has played piano for almost her entire life, and has performed in groups and done solo gigs in lounges for many years. At this point, if someone comes up to the piano and wants to sing "Don't Stop Believing" or "Danny Boy" she can suggest a key and then do an on the spot accompaniment for them. That's her livelihood. She can also get together with other accomplished musicians and do a wicked jam session. But, that is not the norm for many players. Just saying.

He did do Fever and Trespassing acoustically, but it has to be rehearsed. This might be an incentive to work on an extra one together with TJ...we will see. (probably not much down time to practice though, we can only hope. I doubt he wants to get into album 2 songs on US radio..as most lose the flavour without the "real music" backing. AND lynne...didilynn...you are also right on the money...that soundcloud version of the John Mayer BTIKM was truly amazing ...and so was the sound quality. Adam sang that so high in that version. He did himself proud. Just wondering is that what you call head voice ...or just singing high?soundcloud.com/galechester/kc101-3-hartford-conn

Adam Lambert News @adambertdaily they played btikm and wwfm Adam said tommy didn't know any other songsLots of people taking pictures and videos station will have everything up tomorrow morning Okay from my observation again... and I didn't mean to get the discussion about Tommy vs Kevin continue, though I think it's unavoidable since Adam will be accompany by either Kevin or Tommy on this radio promo. Adam statement above (the bolded part) is really interesting. On one of today's radio station promo, he was interviewed by 3 different DJs.... the last person was trying to make Adam sing another song, but Adam was avoiding to do it by saying they only planned to do 2 songs. However, when they were in Houston, Adam was really in a good mood and he wanted to do another song, so he discussed it with Kevin and they ended up do FEVER song. And he said it's an impromtu thing, so fans to bear with them. Adam statement above's interesting because it's kinda tell us that Adam knows really well the ability of each member of his band, musically. Here's the Houston video, they did fever at 4.30 LOL... IMO that supports cassie's point... Kev may have been game to do it off the cuff.. but it was not very good. Not blaming or criticizing, just an observation. I'm just glad Adam has musicians to work with he respects and likes... Kevin, Tommy, Isaac and now Ashley. They are a great band for him and suit his needs and his sound at this time. In the end, though, it's Adam who calls the shots. I have too much respect for Adam's own musical judgment to second guess him on the matter of his choices. He knows what is at stake and would not settle people who can't do the job. I do not believe Adam is so loyal he'd put up with inferior quality. He's just too much of a perfectionist for that. ETA: And now that I've had my say I'm done with this topic. Forever.
