I have an expectation/hope that we will see Tommy on tour on rhythm guitar and someone else on lead guitar.

AND lynne...didilynn...you are also right on the money...that soundcloud version of the John Mayer BTIKM was truly amazing ...and so was the sound quality. Adam sang that so high in that version. He did himself proud. Just wondering is that what you call head voice ...or just singing high?soundcloud.com/galechester/kc101-3-hartford-conn Yup, in this version Adam does use his head voice every time he goes for the high notes. I think you can hear the slight shift in tone in the chorus when he sings "better than I know myseeeeeeellllllf." The rest of the song is sung in his chest voice. The thing about Adam, tho', is he is masterful at singing very lightly in chest voice but with a lot of ring and resonance in his head and sinuses. This makes his lower register sound like a floating head voice, and blends the tones of the different notes together nicely. A delicious sound.

I agree Adam would want his songs prepared and love your post, Cassie! On one occasion, tho, didn't Adam and Kevin do 'Fever' on the fly? I remember Adam introducing it like..well, here we go..and it was great! I admired they could do that together. Jamming.. I remember that. I sorta doubt that it was totally "on the fly" tho, despite what Adam said. I suspect Adam had at least heard Kevin playing Fever and had jammed with him a bit on it. Also, I think Kevin has a much stronger music theory and music training background. My sister has college degrees in music, has played piano for almost her entire life, and has performed in groups and done solo gigs in lounges for many years. At this point, if someone comes up to the piano and wants to sing "Don't Stop Believing" or "Danny Boy" she can suggest a key and then do an on the spot accompaniment for them. That's her livelihood. She can also get together with other accomplished musicians and do a wicked jam session. But, that is not the norm for many players. Just saying. My post wasn't meant to be contrary, Cassie..honest. I thought it was fun that Kevin and Adam were able to werk a song, that's all. And yes, I'm sure there was advance prep of some kind. (And my post also had nothing to do with Tommy..nada..)

When asked to do a third song, Adam said Tommy only knew the two they had done? I missed that. But, it is totally possible, guys. Yes, he has played all the GNT songs..... on the bass. He filled in for Monte a couple of times, but that was lead/rhythm guitar as part of an ensemble. The part would be very different from playing a solo guitar accompaniment for a singer acoustically. Of course Tommy is familiar with the songs, but, he may not have worked out guitar arrangements for them. It would be like asking him to play a song he has heard on the radio many times, but has never tried to play himself. It is just not something most musicians would be comfortable doing "off the cuff." Imagine that you worked with a team on a project at work. Your contribution was valuable. You were familiar with the scope of the project over all, but not with the details and contributions of each member of the team. If you had suddenly, without warning, been asked to give a formal presentation on the project to an audience, you probably wouldn't quite know where to start. Very few of you would be prepared to do such a presentation. Add to that, Adam is a perfectionist. He prepares and rehearses seriously. He would have worked with Tommy and with Kevin on song keys, tempos, pauses, intros, endings, and interpretations. I cannot imagine him just launching into a song cold, with no prep or rehearsal with any accompanist, even if it were a musician he had worked with in the past. So, no criticism of Tommy in his comment. Just the way things are with performing. They also did accoustic Fever on the SnowCase in Austria, but like you said maybe Tommy's not comfortable enough to do accoustic Fever just him on guitar. Adam & Kevin kept on changing the key on the first weeks of radio promo, they used different key in the morning than the mid morning and the afternoon. Ohh. and I posted the impromptu accoustic Fever when Adam & Kevin in Houston.
