Okay, so the consensus is $24 US for Dorian magazine covers shipping? Sold! I'll put in my order. (Must have that cover!). Also must throw in my thanks to mia and zinnia for the Sauli blog translation - his sunny disposition just makes me happy....appreciate your work, ladies.

I know squat about singing or music, but even to me it seems like he has to hold back in these little bitty venues a bit so he won't literally blow the doors off the place. He has such power, if that's the right word. I have to disagree that there is no mike.. i think there's one above and in front of them. You can hear the blow out and electronic distortion when Adam increases his volume... Also, at one point near the beginning, tommy looks up.. that's where he'd be looking if there was a boom or hanging mike... I can't prove it but it appears that way to me. Ah. Let me clarify. Yes, of course there is a mic to pick up the sound. Otherwise we would have no sound on the video. But there is no mic to amplify or modify his voice. We are talking about two different systems for two different purposes. One for sending the sound into a speaker system to be heard by the audience in the room, and another to record the sound for playback on the radio or other media. It is possible that there is a hanging mic for recording purposes. Tho why they would use one to record is a mystery. If they are recording for radio broadcast, they would want the mic as close as possible to the sound source for the purest sound without any interference or background noises. They would not use a room mic. However, I hear the motor of the camera zoom on this video which tells me the mic that is recording this sound for the video is on the camera itself. That motor sound and a few clicks of the camera would not be picked up by a mic at a distance. You are correct that when Adam powers up for the big notes he blows out the camera mic. It cannot handle that sound intensity, and the sound is distorted. In another video today during the sound check, Adam expresses concern that the mic they are using to record the sound for the radio might not be able to handle his power notes. He expressly sings a bit of the chorus just to make sure they can modulate the sound intensity and avoid feedback or distortion. In the sound check Tommy asks if he should unplug the guitar as they are doing the session without amplification. Adam says to keep it plugged in for the radio recording. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Is Adam taking the weekend off and going home? Anybody know?
I also want to know if he calls Sauli when he is away and says "goodnight" "I love you." I certainly hope so. Don't you? This is too personal a question, right?

While on YT listening to the BTIKM video, on the side they listed this one. Posted by "vocalcoach." Curious, I clicked on it and saw the singer is a teacher at a studio. Um, really?
I am posting it here as an example to show how difficult the song is --- even for a female who should have an easier time with the high notes than a male. In the chorus, she takes the melody down rather than going up for the highest notes. She can't reach them with her belting voice, which sounds very much like yelling to me. Her pitch is also a bit shaky throughout the song. This video, shot in a studio, with a mic, and probably with multiple takes, is not nearly as good as Adam singing in a meeting room, off the cuff, on the spot, with no mic at all. The comparison just shows you how good Adam is.
