So does it pay to write songs for radio's whims, It's like trying to please a spoiled child. There has to be an alternative to this power hungry, make or break power that radio has, but what is it???????????????????? When you think about all the challenges Adam has to get his songs on radio,it kind of reminds me of how he describes old love affairs that hurt him. He Keeps coming back for more, even though it hurts. It just shows how determined Adam is to get his voice and his music out there. Makes me want to have two more hands so that I can vote even more . I want so much for Adam to become world famous, & radio be damned.I can only wish...LOL To top off this radio stuff,Adam has to sell enough cds in order to be able to fund a tour.. Geez.. It always comes back to RADIO, isn't it? According to Adam, you cannot write song for radio's whims though since it says it is not about the quality of the song, but radio directors. I am sure he is playing a bit of their politics. He is probably working his way around them so that they find him pleasing enough to add his songs on their playlists. And here is hoping it works out for him eventually. It is such a tough business and I sometimes feel so sorry for him. Some artists like Katy are sure any crap they spill out would be spun every 30 mins no matter what. The funniest thing is most of the artists they spin cannot sell cds to save their lives even with all the exposure. How many cds do Derulo, Pitbull, Guetta and co sell for constantly being exposed to millions of music buyers everyday??? Radio doesn't seem to care about this thou unfortunately. They would spin who they want and not necessarily what their audience crave for.

Interesting posts gbam! Welcome! May I ask what country you're from?
Perhaps this ties into the "self sabotage" Adam has talked about in promo interviews for BTIKM.

gbam-Your conclusions and rational are such interesting reading. Wow! My only further thought is that I believe BTIKM was pushed out early and in such a seemingly unplanned manner because the bastard album was making traction with those who didn't know better and it was being advertised as Adam's "new" music. I think RCA felt it had to get that big misconception/lie exposed and out of the way before it took hold and everyone thought that inferior piece of trash WAS Adam's new music. I feel such gigantic anger towards those damn bottomfeeders - including his former good friend - every time I think about it. GRR. >:(

gbam! WELCOME!!!!!!!!! Love that you have joined us and your views are interetsing, but this one, I have to disagree! No, do not think this has anything to do with the song. Once again, the US PDs played WWFM and that was right after the AMAs which was a much bigger deal than the Finland incident. BTW, some of the most conservative areas in the country have added BTIKM and added it early. It is the bigger markets (like NY and Atlanta) that are coming in more slowly.

gbam- Yes, the cd-version of the single has been released last friday. With no radio support. The only pr it has is from the movie it is title track of. The movie is doing great, is #1 in the movie charts in Germany this week and according to people on twitter you can hear the song a few times in the movie, but not during the credits, but they have the cover in the credits. It has moved up a little bit on iTunes last weekend, #164 overall was the highest I saw, but is now somewhere between #200 and #250 again. ETA:

Welcome gbam! Interesting points you have made about radio play. Adam wasn't kidding about his fans having his back because it looks like we are one of his major assets. It looks like RCA is going for British backing and European airplay independent of US radio support. It does worry me that Adam may be dumbing down his album to suit US radio when they may not play it anyway.

Interesting posts gbam! Welcome! May I ask what country you're from? Perhaps this ties into the "self sabotage" Adam has talked about in promo interviews for BTIKM. Denmark. I am happy you appear to agree with me about the Finnish incidence. He had so much buzz until then and everything seemed going fine. I remember even Z100 tweeting about him before then. Anyway, that is my own take about the hurdle he is facing with radio.

Besides, others in Pop have done much worse & still get played. I mentioned the self sabotage quote because these 2 incidents did come at inopportune times. I just don't think the impact was that great after the initial TMZ sleezebag-type coverage.
