in the next days mayer will pass Adam. But Adam probably won't pass Selena before early next week, at least not, if the updates for the next days are similar to the last days. That means will probably be #21 on Sunday, if there are no recurrents, but will #20 next week again, because at the moment there is noone else behind Adam, who can pass him. Another thing I thought about. They should release the next single early april and will have about 6 weeks till the album is released. that is approximately the same period of time, that lead singles usually get ;D. (And they can call BTIKM the buzz-single  ). Aralid I really believe it's time to release a new single (hopefully CUCKOO) IMO I don't think BTIKM is clicking /selling that well (I know some say his AI has to be at least 10 M to make a difference) but it's taking too long to get to that point. SO move on and debut the song on his upcoming AI appearance. Damn I TRULY believe CUCKOO will kick ass and if that is not the 'chosen' 2nd song, then I think NCOE will sell better than BTIKM ....keeping fingers crossed. I would have loved to see BTIKM entering the Billboard charts again, but only with HAC radio and the mv it won't happen that soon. Maybe with TV performances like the NNN awards in april. I think, I wouldn't give BTIKM more than 2-3 weeks. It is moving steadily, but too slow and IMO on the wrong format for Adam. Adam is a Pop singer and should have a song on pop radio. But if they release the new single "soon", they could premiere the new single at the NNN awards and give it a little jump start. What about a medley of both? Giving BTIKM a last boost and premiere the new one. Would that work? |

I think BTIKM needs 2-3 more weeks to peak on HAC. You don't abandon a song when it is still having such consistent spin increases. There is no reason why the new single and BTIKM can't be out at the same time. The new one will definitely be more Pop. HAC moves sooooooooooo slowly, it would be fine to have Cuckoo ;D moving up the CHR charts. It wouldn't effect BTIKM on HAC and I don't see BTIKM going any higher than 48 on the Pop charts. I would say new single around 4/10 to radio. Have it play a few weeks before it goes for sale. This would almost follow the release schedule RCA did for Kelly's 2 singles (of course, her album was out before the 2nd single though.) It will be faster than the Daughtry pattern for 2nd single. <<< That alone, shows me how committed RCA is to this album  |

I definitely think they could release a new single to CHR and still allow BTIKM to climb a little higher on its own on HAC. Maybe, rather than a specific date, RCA is waiting for BTIKM to reach a particular milestone on HAC before releasing the 2nd single. I could see them wanting BTIKM to be solid in the teens (even if just 17 or 18).
Still hope he debuts the new single on Idol. More for album promo than anything else.

The next song ahead of BTIKM (except Selena), that is moving slower is Grammer, who has 2005 spins, that means about 860 spins ahead and bullet is 75. So he will not pass anyone (except Selena) and BUT probably no-one will pass him (except Mayer), so with a few recurrents, it is possible. |

Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but I just want to ask this. Why do fans want Adam to debut or premiere his new single on a big platform like Idol, so much. Wouldn't that be kind of counterproductive, or be not so good for sales?
Wouldn't it be better for his single to be playing on the radio charts, so that when he performs it on Idol, or the Voice, or DWTS that it'll have a chance of getting high on the iTunes charts and staying there, and it'll be good for for his placement on Billboard charts, like WWFM was? As well as being a help with Album sales/promo?
It's just that we keep seeing people debuting new songs on these huge platforms, and they show like barely a blip on the charts. I just want his song to have traction on the charts when he performs..

My thing is, I just don't think BTIKM is going to be high enough on the charts (and, really, we are only talking HAC here, CHR isn't spinning) with a high enough AI to really get much more than temporary bump on iTunes even after an Idol performance. It's not going to be anywhere close to where WWFM was when Adam performed it. Better for the album to perform a brand-new uptempo song which, hopefully, will have been getting some significant spins on CHR for a few weeks.
