Ok, I'm still trying to figure this out, lol. Adam has said a bunch of times that the album would be divided in half---light side (fun dance songs) and a darker side with more introspective stuff. What do we have so far to fill out the two sides? Darker side would be OOL, Underneath, Broken English, and maybe Chokehold. Light side Trespassing, Cuckoo, Kickin In, NCOE, Shady, Naked Love, new Claude Kelly. And where would BTIKM fit?
I just hope these new songs don't mess with the concept Adam has going for this album.

His mom is in San Francisco? That's new! I think she has been living there since the divorce, right ? Wasn't she there when Adam was on AI ? : Yes, but she's been in LA for a while now. She or he even talked about it in Behind the Music (I think.)

Congratulations, hoopla! Glad you were able to attend the meet and greet and have such a memorable interaction with Adam. It sounds like a wonderful day. Thanks for the terrific recap!
LOVED acoustic "Cuckoo!" Great video. Adam sounds amazing. I think he could do that song a cappella and it would still work. The song has great "bones." Please let it be the next single.
In his interview with Electroqueer Music last month, Sam Sparro said he wasn't certain that "Broken English" would be selected for Adam's new CD ("It may or may not be. I hope it makes it."), so one of the new songs (the one Adam was recording in Chicago, the duet, or the Claude Kelly-produced track--and maybe they're all the same song) could take that slot. I think (really hope) that "Broken English" will at least show up on the deluxe CD, though, since it's about Sauli and their relationship and is probably special to Adam. And also there's been a bit of press about the song, and he'd probably get questions about it from journalists and fans that he could avoid if we could just hear it! (I'll be sad if I don't get to ooh and aah and melt over "Broken English" like I already know I'm going to do when I listen to it.)

Fast and slow is not necessarily part of the division. For instance, Adam said Shady is part of the Dark side. ETA: Misha, Sam would never say if his song is on the album. I think it is just part of "artist ettiquette."

Thanks for the wonderful recap, Hoopla! So happy for you! DITTO! Thank you Hoopla:-), been lurking for your recap and voting! Thanks to all for those reminders. And the gay mans beating story brought tears to my eyes. So sad, and Adam is working so hard to promote love and acceptance!

I thought Adam told Lyndsey Parker in one of the early interviews after the album cover was released that Shady was a "light side" song, just that the title sounded dark. Maybe I should go back and listen again.
Eta---ok, Adam told Lyndsey it was a "fun song about being a little dark and a little nasty"
I do still wonder how they are going to keep the cohesiveness of the album and the light/dark concept with the addition of these radio songs. I want Adam to have a hit as much as anyone, but I hope it's not at the expense of the album.
