What brought this on... At the listening party we skyped with Angelina. Her thoughts: BTIKM - not a good first single. NOCE worse. Cuckoo and Tresspassing much better. She is in the music business and has lots of connections. She is a total fangirl, and is a professional in the music business. She confirmed my thoughts, and it is sending me chills. Other statements also indicate, not successful promotion in UK either. So doing the BM bland song tonite just triggered something, and sent me into panic mode. Geeez...perhaps you guys shouldn't skype with this Angelina person anymore....(Isn't she an opera singer????) I guess I'm in the minority. Trespassing is my favourite song so far, but I really like NCOE....I don't think it's "bland" and I think it's got a great hook... |

NO NO NO NO NO STOP THIS RIGHT NOW SMOKEY!!!!! RCA has got wayyyyyy too much money invested in Adam to write him off like that. Look how much they're spending on all the radio promo. STOP PANICKING!!!!! At this point if that happened ,I think it might be a blessing. There is no way in hell that another record company wouldn't jump at signing Adam. I would hope for katy Perry's label. I am sick to the death of RCA. Adam has a great career a head of him ,he needs a label who lets him fly. I don't think RCA will let him go .. but they sure aren't the company for Adam. No we do not want Adam to be signed to Capital which was recently acquired by UMG and is being torn up. Seriously -- I have been quite critical of RCA but that does not make UMG any better. It is a bad system but it is much better to be a major label artist than it is to be a starving indie artist. Adam seems to have had creative control over all but 3 tracks on this album. That is huge and an enormous amount of creative freedom. |

The UK does not have much of a market for Adult Pop songs like BTIKM -- this is not news. Adam's performance of NOCE tonight was quite good -- and I think NOCE would be a much stronger single than BTIKM. I am still hoping they pick Cuckoo for the next single but I think that NOCE would be a fine choice. ETA: Angelina is a very accomplished opera singer. She knows very little about pop music, and less about the recorded music business. She is a expert on voice and is hugely informative about the subject of Adam's vocal talent. |

I'm not ready to give up on RCA. They give Adam a lot of support and freedom. I still think BTIKM was chosen last December because it was ready to go and something was needed because of the BFM mess. I bet for the second single RCA is getting feedback from PD's. So I am going to trust that single 2 will get radio play.

I just have this gut nauseous feeling, that RCA is fucking with Adam. Maybe it was only a 2 record deal. Doesn't Kris get 3. Maybe they doing everything to make sure this album fails, so they can release him from his contract. Holding up the album for the ratty BM song. Probably gonna be the 2nd single. Career over, no No.1's, release from contract. Talk me off the ledge folks, cause I'm in full panic mode here. Wow. Dude, breathe. I have no idea what is panicking you so much, but I don't think it's justified. The label has invested a fuckload of money into Adam's album and it makes no sense for them to want him to fail. |
