What brought this on... At the listening party we skyped with Angelina. Her thoughts: BTIKM - not a good first single. NOCE worse. Cuckoo and Tresspassing much better. She is in the music business and has lots of connections. She is a total fangirl, and is a professional in the music business. She confirmed my thoughts, and it is sending me chills. Other statements also indicate, not successful promotion in UK either. So doing the BM bland song tonite just triggered something, and sent me into panic mode. Geeez...perhaps you guys shouldn't skype with this Angelina person anymore....(Isn't she an opera singer????) I guess I'm in the minority. Trespassing is my favourite song so far, but I really like NCOE....I don't think it's "bland" and I think it's got a great hook... I really like NCOE too. I don't agree with Angelina - but that's her opinion. And I just don't think Trespassing would be a good next single. Wow - is it beat up RCA time? I think RCA, on the whole, is doing just fine with Adam. For fans, it seems the grass is always greener at the other label. Most of the time, it is not. I think Adam is well pleased with RCA and vice-versa.

Just because Adam chose to sing NCOE has no major significance to me. He has intro'd Cuckoo, TP, and now NCOE. We have heard Chokehold. Perhaps Adam knows how anxious we are for the music and is trying to give us acoustic appetizers. It might not be any deeper than Adam wanting to please us and introduce more music from the CD to gauge response whilst we wait-ish.
ETA: And from where I was sitting, I think it took Adam by surprise too that the crowd wanted WWFM. Being the fair-minded person he is, he performed it. But I don't doubt Adam wanted to finish with an uptempo. If this had happened, then maybe not so much angst about NCOE getting the prime slot. Wasn't meant to be..just happened.

IMHO, Adam has had a great promotion in the UK.. Wait until Queen, then the promotion will be everywhere. We were all jealous over the PR over there and wanted the same PR in the States. Now he is all over the place here and we're worried about the UK? I think RCA knows just how great Adam is,but they are so worried about radio that they are not thinking straight. Trespassing is a great album from the songs we have heard ,so I think it will be a success no matter what single comes next. I love Cuckoo, but there is no sure bet when it comes to radio. If I had to make a bet on Adam and his career ,I would bet all I had on his continuing success for many ,many years to come. Ups and downs, highs and lows, Adam is and will continue to be a star. I just feel it in my bones. So I'm not worried about RCA dropping Adam,I'm only worried that they won't give him his flying license.

It's a song choice for one performance. Sometimes we read too much into everything. Perhaps Adam can sing or hum ShaDy next?! If music industry connections can truly predict or guarantee success, radio or otherwise, there would have been hell more success stories told since sooooo many do claim to possess such associations. Too much clairvoyant power for too many, don't you think?

But didn't we all know that BTIKM wasn't cut out for the UK anyway and it wasn't being released there for that reason? Seems like they're paving the way for breaking him out with single #2 whatever it is. Sorry, but it's gonna be a cold day in hell before I take an opera singer's opinion on how a record label is handling a pop singer's career. LOL jfc. Seriously? Ugh.

Awww Smokey...Adam is a Grammy-nominated artist that is about to embark on a Queen adventure. RCA has invested in him. He IS relevant. He will go viral when he sings with Queen. His timing is perfect. I'm torn with the next single but IMO Trespassing is my favorite. So let's hear my opinion.........He's so beautiful!!!

I just have this gut nauseous feeling, that RCA is fucking with Adam. Maybe it was only a 2 record deal. Doesn't Kris get 3. Maybe they doing everything to make sure this album fails, so they can release him from his contract. Holding up the album for the ratty BM song. Probably gonna be the 2nd single. Career over, no No.1's, release from contract. Talk me off the ledge folks, cause I'm in full panic mode here. Step away from the ledge smokey. RCA has invested a lot into Adam's second album to simply let it tank despite the failures of the exec that chose his first single.

Wow - I think it's been a looong week or three - I hope people take this the right way, but "expertise" is not the end all and be all. The people who listen to music on the radio and buy singles and albums, especially casual fans or newbies, aren't into analyzing vocal quality, tonal depth, etc, etc, etc. They hear something, it catches their fancy, and that's it. I think there will be a number of songs on this album that will do well based on what we've heard so far. And I quite like NCOE as well as the others. Different songs for different moods. Just like I have on my ipod right now - back to my hidey hole :-)

I honestly have not had a moment of worry about this album or Adam. He is in love, has a great family and friends, has almost complete creative freedom, can afford to shop whenever he wants....
I really do not think Adam wants or needs his fans to worry -- I think he needs his fans to support him, and to appreciate his performances, and to buy his music.
JMHO YMMV
