Yes. Yes it is. Here's my recap of the night. I probably have forgotten much of it but Emily and Abriton will fill in the holes. The Bing was very full and you could not get in without a ticket. I think they actually overbooked. Adam came out to great applause and looked just marvelous. He had on more make-up than he has in recent days but maybe this was because this was an evening appearance. From streams and you tubes already up, you can see he was wearing his beautiful blue shirt with the sweater vest. Black tight pants. The DJ wasn't too bad and he is an Adam fan. I don't know if you picked up the audience reaction, but there was great applause for the three songs. I was only disappointed that we didn't get to hear Trespassing instead of WWFM, but since this is an audience of contest winners, many probably haven't stayed in touch with his music since Idol. Tommy was trying to get the audience to pick "Trespassing". We only were able to submit written questions and I liked the one about the burning house and what he would save. This was submitted by the crying girl in the front who got to read the question to Adam. They kept mentioning her and Adam was telling her to just take a deep breath. What a sweetheart. After the singing, we all lined up and in groups of 4, we had a picture with Adam. Yeah, I made a beeline to be the inside (Sorry Em for running you over for that spot!). I asked for a hug and he said "of course". Then my brain may have gone numb because I forgot all my carefully rehearsed statements. I managed to blurt out "Is it Trespassing for the next single" and he said it hasn't been decided. A week ago, I would have bet money it was Trespassing but now I don't know. Guys, it may be NCOE. This is a beautiful song and I am beginning to like it a lot. I am floating on Cloud 9. Very happy to meet Emily and see Abriton again. AWW, want to repeat this post, such a wonderful recap... Adam looked so gorgeous and loved seeing you today

I get that everyone has opinions, and not everyone has to like every song.
But dang, it's disheartening to read so much trashing and mocking of songs that happen to not be your favorite. It's not like it elevates one song when another is ripped apart. I don't get it.
Especially after a fantastic livestream like tonight.

pearl13 @pearl13 Anyone know what was the final number of viewers on the @thebinglounge stream for @adamlambert? I saw 4,200 at one point. Bing Lounge @thebinglounge @pearl13 @adamlambert @ustream had over 4,500 hits. The sound really WAS incredible in that Bing Lounge....we are being so spoiled! YES, the acoustics in that building were great! :D

Only just got here and missed the livestream, but just watched the above vid, and I've got serious chills. Adam sounds unreal singing that song. That was, for me, a totally unexpected level of awesome. I have no clue at all about singing, and I'd love to get Cassie or someone's take, but that seemed like an incredibly difficult thing to pull off to me, requiring remarkable breath control, and he sounded wonderful. And it took spectacular advantage of the atmospheric riches of his voice. I found it a thrilling performance. I loooove Cuckoo and Trespassing (the bestest), and I want one of them to be the next single for one big reason: Adam wrote them. I think Adam's skills as a songwriter deserve to be recognized, and I believe, though I can't know, that that would make him happiest. But DAMN, kids--if it's Adam's vocal wonders, once again, that get showcased, I won't cry about it. I'd liked to see Bruno fucking try to sing that shit like that! Jeepers! I agree w/ the smart lady above. Generally I'm not making any decisions based on snippets. Imma wait for the album - leaving singles decisions to TPTB b/c that's how it is. (And I am still loving all these promo vids/talks/perfs - truly awash in riches.) But given some people seemed to really not care for this song - just wanted to say I very much liked this version of NCOE - Adam sounded amazing. And it sounded a bit like a potential Bond theme song to me - esp the chorus and break. Wld need to be vamped up of course and with more edgy arrangement. It may be less violent than most Bond themes but does have request inclusion of 'Die' so... Here's the Chris Cornell theme for Casino Royale. Please don't listen if you don't like rock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=867iyhVFyEwI know the songs are very, very different but strangely some dramatic elements struck me as similar. (And yeah neither this song nor the next Bond theme by Jack White and Alicia Keys (Another Way to Die) were hits but it's still a cool credit.) As for the RCA issue, I don't think anyone distrusts labels and the ugly corporate music monopolies more than I but RCA operates off of self-interest and Adam is an incredibly valuable asset at this point. Given the thousands and thousands of albums released each year, FYE was one of a comparatively small number of US releases to sell as well as it did. His tour made money and kept getting extended in a year when bigger names couldn't fill venues. He is a PR dream - you can dress 'em up and give 'em notes, but many/most artists are mediocre to terrible interviews (and unfortunately not so attractive - LMFAO anyone? 8-) ). He also has an expanding intl fan base which a lot of top sellers in U.S. don't - that's big money as well. So old guys at RCA aren't sitting around trying to figure out how to get rid of Adam but how to best position him. Maybe they'll be wrong (they often are) but they want what Adam wants - how to get there is the only discussion. And IF Adam and RCA are arguing over singles - well that makes them like pretty much like every other artist/band and their label. Note: IIRC one of the few times an artists won this discussion was Gaga with Telephone. And she had already had a proven track record and Bad Romance crushing but she still had to fight. Gaga has a genius marketing ear - yet even she has failed to get certain songs the treatment she thought they deserved despite throwing all her clout at the issue. NO ONE knows what will hit - if they did labels would be much calmer, more profitable enterprises. And while I too would like the next single to be a big hit - I'm pleased that whatever is released will be one of the few songs Adam loved enough to put on his album. It's not he's like being forced to record and release 'Puppy Love' (I hope that doesn't give anyone ideas) or "I Think I Love You" (which is an awesome song admittedly). I love posting on dead threads - very freeing.

Had to create an account here to give my two cents about the single decision. I don't work for a label nor pretend to, but grilled cheezus people need to remember singles are not usually album tracks and they aren't typically fan favorites. I do listen to Top 40 and NCOE is a great song with great production. However it's not my favorite of the four, nor do I need the single choice to be. I need it to be played on the radio, which NCOE will, it's catchy and radio perfect. Had they not led with BTIKM and could afford a risk and a 'buzz single', they might have been able to send out Trespassing to see what it could do. But we aren't there and that's not happening.
Now I can't excuse the choice or the rollout of BTIKM (well I understand the logic) but execution was poor and Dr. Luke's production was severely lacking on the track.
Because I'm new, I don't know who the opera singer is, but unless she's got inside info with program directors and the label, people shouldn't get angsty about these decisions based on one person's opinion. I would however like to hear her take on Adam's technique on the NCOE acoustic, which was incredible.
Labels don't pay for songs from someone like Bruno Mars and leave it as an album track. The minute we knew it made the cut, it was likely a single. And the Bruno fans, from what I've seen on the web, like the track. They aren't petty and vindictive idol butthurt fans, they like music and are supportive. And Adam sings the every mother effing crap out of it live.
(and if you must know, I love Chokehold, but I am aware that it's not singles material)
ETA: and yeah, I get 'Adam needs to do his own songs, blah blah.' It would be nice. But Kelly didn't write Stronger, no one gives a rat's ass either. Get him a hit, then go with the co-writes. The order for me is irrevevant.
