Adam sounded fantastic yesterday and I loved listening to him singing NCOE with less production behind it. I love all 4 songs in contention and would be so happy with any one of them - had a hard time reconciling my thoughts with all the drama I read yesterday and I realize that many others tried to steer the ship back on track too....thanks guys....sometimes things just go wonky here...
Anyhoo...just wanted to say: The way I see it, I want RCA to release that song that has the best chance to be in high rotation - who cares how much I personally like it. I will buy this album anyway ten times over and no single release strategy in the world is changing that. What matters is what brings in gazillion new single buyers because they hear the song and want to have it for themselves as one of the major single tracks of 2012 to play at every party.
Whichever song will do that, that should be the single, whether that is my most favorite or least favorite of the four does not matter one bit in that regard. I want RCA to get that song into best possible day time rotation on KISS-up-to-FM and Co. That is what is best for RCA and best for Adam.
And I will support any single out there, and that is why I now go make some BTIKM requests...because that is how this silly system works. But I am happy for any one of the four to come my way any day now.

NOTACRAY: WELCOME TO ATOP! LOVE YOUR FIRST POST (from end of yesterday's thread)--WAY TO DELURK, BB! ;D (Loved yours, too, MIKA!)
Had to create an account here to give my two cents about the single decision. I don't work for a label nor pretend to, but grilled cheezus people need to remember singles are not usually album tracks and they aren't typically fan favorites. I do listen to Top 40 and NCOE is a great song with great production. However it's not my favorite of the four, nor do I need the single choice to be. I need it to be played on the radio, which NCOE will, it's catchy and radio perfect. Had they not led with BTIKM and could afford a risk and a 'buzz single', they might have been able to send out Trespassing to see what it could do. But we aren't there and that's not happening.
Now I can't excuse the choice or the rollout of BTIKM (well I understand the logic) but execution was poor and Dr. Luke's production was severely lacking on the track.
Because I'm new, I don't know who the opera singer is, but unless she's got inside info with program directors and the label, people shouldn't get angsty about these decisions based on one person's opinion. I would however like to hear her take on Adam's technique on the NCOE acoustic, which was incredible.
Labels don't pay for songs from someone like Bruno Mars and leave it as an album track. The minute we knew it made the cut, it was likely a single. And the Bruno fans, from what I've seen on the web, like the track. They aren't petty and vindictive idol butthurt fans, they like music and are supportive. And Adam sings the every mother effing crap out of it live.
(and if you must know, I love Chokehold, but I am aware that it's not singles material)
ETA: and yeah, I get 'Adam needs to do his own songs, blah blah.' It would be nice. But Kelly didn't write Stronger, no one gives a rat's ass either. Get him a hit, then go with the co-writes. The order for me is irrevevant.
Last week of radio promo...It's been SO MUCH FUN to hear Adam sing/talk all over the country! But I'll bet he's ready for a little break. Just so grateful to have so much ACTION--even if I can never keep up with it all! BERTIGO! My head spins! :D
P.S. Do we have a Bertigo smiley? Something that represents "dizzy with pleasure/excitement"?

I don't often vote in those online polls designed to get hits for websites and move traffic. I don't participate in fan wars. But looking at the MTV March Madness site ------ OH HELL, NO! If Durbs wins against Green Day and Adam wins against whomever, they will be up against each other in the next round. DO. NOT. WANT. The carnage will be brutal. So, if anyone thinks of ways to avoid this possibility (not telling anyone to vote for Green Day repeatedly, tho' I think their music is better than their competition, but this is an Adam forum, right?) I would much appreciate it. www.mtv.com/content/news/2012/musical_march_madness_2012/

Oh waiting for the Q102 concert announcement this afternoon (5:20pm) is sooo hard....lol. B104 is having one tomorrow morning too....assuming they are both for the "summer" version of Jingle Ball. Well if they are anything like the line up for the KISS concert in Boston.......need to know now!! I'm going to be out of town for a week in May....crossing fingers & toes that it is not that week, if Adam is going to be there!!!! (no concentration today what. so. ever!)

I am loving all of the positive vibes this morning. Much better than last night. This is what makes me want to keep coming back. Keep it up! Oh last night was sorta sad after the livestream, on twitter anyway :(

I like it when people freely express their thoughts on this board without being silenced through peer pressure and shaming. I honor the free thinkers and especially those brave enough to speak their thoughts, even when they are unpopular. My 2 cents. Exactly. Besides, there's a lot of humor in some of the comments that I enjoy. We are not all going to agree, and it's diversity that makes things interesting. ETA: From what I've seen, the twitter conversations seem to be viewed as part of this board's dialogue quite frequently. As someone who refuses to Tweet unless it would somehow save a life, my perspective is that the discussion here only was pretty funny and not that negative. Also there's a crucial difference between these live acoustic performances and the studio tracks that I try to keep it mind. I almost always love the live performances, always. Then I hear the studio versions and am disappointed, because I personally prefer simpler, less complicated productions, especially when a singer has a voice of Adam's caliber. But that is ONLY ONE PERSON'S opinion. /Shrug.

I'm bringing this over from Twitter, because I totally agree with everything Susie wrote in the letter posted on Chunkey's homepage. Susie Fierce SusieFierceIn the spirit of full disclosure, I wrote this as just a means of venting some of my frustration about some assorted wank. I was discussing w/ chunkeymonkey81 and she asked to see it. I sent it to her and she asked to post on Friday, but I told her to hold off because we just got the release date and everyone was happy so no point stirring up wank when it wasn't necessary. She said she would do it anon, I didn't really think that was necessary. I stood by it, but since I hadn't decided to post it or not, I still said, "Hold off a bit." Things got pretty wanky again on one site again last night, so I told her, go ahead and post it. LOL, though three days is a long time in fandom, this is still how I mostly feel about single analysis and pontification. No biggie. Again, as I was writing it, it was mainly so that I could analyze my own frustrations on a few different things. Just some thoughts, anyway! www.thehomeplanet.org/2012/03/realness-time/

Welcome NOTACRAY!!!!!( hoopla, I was about to copy her post from last night here, but you beat me to it) I agree, great first post, and sorry it was overlooked being at the end of last night's thread. Usually new members get a nice welcome here, the more the merrier! standard rules apply: where are you from, when did you discover Adam, have you seen him in concert? By the way, I loved your post! also, although I agree all peeps entitled to their oppinion, I do not want to see Adam's music getting trashed here, after all, this is an Adam fan site. Just sayin MHO.
