I know nothing about the picking of singles. Seems radio play/sales are a major criteria....could something like a song having a more likely chance for a Grammy nomination come into play at all...like BTIKM/NCOE are more in the vein of WWFM which was nominated and a song like Cuckoo or Trespassing not as likely to be considered. This probably has absolutely no bearing in the selection process, but just wondered if a song that showcases vocals more goes into what gets nominated or it is songs that are biggest hits get nominated more frequently. Know we are FAR from any Grammy nomination talk, but just wondered if that would be in the background when singles are chosen...I am not making any sense anymore...sorry :-[

Anyone voting on the MTV contest? Adam's percentage is slowly but surely dropping. Yes, I voted , -and then I was cooling down-, and again voted. Adam still slowly dropping. (I would have put in this point "push button" smiley, but I could not find it.) I'm in a cooling off period right now. Can't do anything for at least another two hours. Hope someone can replace me. |

Anyone voting on the MTV contest? Adam's percentage is slowly but surely dropping. I just went on and did my thing but the fraction went DOWN with almost every vote! It's either wanky or there were 2 folks voting against him every time I voted for him. IDEK ??? Then I went to vote for Green Day (Yes. Yes, I did. LOL*) and it went down about every 3rd vote? Just weird. And NOT satisfying! :-/ On a brighter note, I voted again last night right before I went to bed and neither Green Day nor Adam were doing well. I got up this morning and Voila! the elves took over while I was sleeping and they were both ahead by a couple of points this AM and have stayed that way, however with a smaller margin at the moment. BTW, I love all you elves out there in "earlier" time zones. You are a force to be reckoned with! :D * in my defense on the Green Day thing. They ARE a popular band and I just don't want a match up with JD and Adam. It would be the fan group for EVERY OTHER IDOL THAT EVER LIVED VS. AFL. I still think we'd win, but just don't want the stress. I know I'm not the only one. I would normally not vote against anyone - I swear.
