Adam Lambert’s sophomore album Trespassing is still a month or so away, but the Glam One is generously giving us a taste of what’s to come. While performing an acoustic set at the Bing lounge this week, Glambert performed a new track called “Never Close Our Eyes”, which was written by Bruno Mars. It’s a touching song about never wanting to sleep so you can spend all your time awake with your loved one. (In Adam’s case, that would be his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen.) Listen to Adam belt it out below, as well as a snippet of the LP’s title track. Adam Lambert – “Never Close Our Eyes” (Live) A snippet of the title track from Adam’s new album also hit the net recently — take a listen below: Adam Lambert – “Trespassing” (Snippet) We’re hearing a vibe of both Queen, Michael Jackson and — dare we say, Maroon 5? — in here. How about you? Maroon 5? LOL I feel like I'm at a wine tasting and the guy next to me is saying he detects a hit of chocolate and cinnamon. Koshka, LOL! Maroon 5? : I have been listening to the acoustic NCOE this afternoon and I like it so much better than the snippet. It made me realize how much arrangement matters. This song would be so great with a harder-edged arrangement, say with jazz and psychedelic and Indian influences like "Ring of Fire." That would have been so haunting and epic. Just saying ... maybe for the tour ...

I wasn't going to post this but with the discussion about which single would do well in the UK I changed my mind.
This is from twitter last night. It's just one person's opinion but Daz Gale (as some of you know) is a young gay guy from London who loves pop music, goes to clubs with his friends all the time & is an Adam fan. So I give his opinion at least some credence.
Read bottom up:
Daz Gale @dazgale @jazzrocks3 I don't know. It's so unpredictable out there at the moment so I really don't know how the public are gonna take to the album. In reply to JazzRocks3
15h Daz Gale @jazzrocks3 I love the song but I don't know if it's going to be the big hit he needs for this album. Then again I don't know if any will be In reply to JazzRocks3
15h Daz Gale @dazgale @jazzrocks3 It's gonna be NCOE isn't it?
Nothing conclusive of course & just one guy's opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

Popdust @popdust Another new acoustic @adamlambert track for you: "Never Close Our Eyes." popdust.com/2012/03/27/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes/We’ll say one thing about all these acoustic premieres of Adam Lambert’s tracks–it’s a much better way to hear his new material than endless leaked/”leaked” three-second snippets or stems or something. (Nobody’s really releasing stems as teasers yet, but it’s bound to happen in the next decade or so.) It’s like something tucked away on a genuine Adam Lambert setlist, genuinely exciting. And it’s even better on videos like this, where you can actually hear what’s going on. Below is “Never Close Our Eyes.” This one’s written by Bruno Mars, and you can tell; there’s a bit of “Grenade” or “It Will Rain” theatrical swoop to it. If you can’t hear it with the acoustic production here, imagine it with the power-ballad treatment, with big percussion and organs and reverb. You probably wouldn’t have to do much in your imagination with Adam’s vocals, though, which are predictably good. Listen below.
