Fuck truly is one of the most versatile words in the English language, it can often be used as a verb, adverb, adjective, imperative, interjection, and noun. It has various metaphorical meanings. To be "fucked" can mean to be cheated (e.g., "I got fucked by a scam artist"), or to be broken or ruined (e.g., "my computer is fucked") as well as to be sexually penetrated. As a noun, "a fuck" or "a fucker" may describe a contemptible person. "A fuck" may mean an act of copulation. The word can be used as an interjection, and its participle is sometimes used as a strong (not necessarily negative) emphatic. The verb 'to fuck' may be used transitively or intransitively, and it appears in compounds, including fuck off, fuck you, fuck up, and fuck with. In less explicit usages, fuck or 'fuck with' can mean to mess around, or to deal with unfairly or harshly. In a phrase such as "don't give a fuck", the word is the equivalent of "damn", in the sense of something having little value. In "what the fuck?!", it serves merely as an intensive. If something is very abnormal or annoying, "this is fucked up!" may be used. ......and lets not put anyone in the " if you swear you are immature or unintelligent" box..... Sheesh You're just fucking with us, right? ;D Fuckin' right!

And Adam just confirmed today that Russia wont be happening.I don't know the source of this. Currently the Moscow Concert is still in Brian May's soapbox. I wonder if Januarysnow can verify this for us: 1. Is that AD on the street with Queen+Adam concert is still standing? 2. Can she call the local concert promoter and see if the show is still on? www.concert.ru (The Olympic Arena's box office) Tel: +7 (495) 641-19-00 Just saw it. Hope it's just the Fool's Day joke. Okay, I went to the promoters' site ("Euro Entertainment") - euro-ent.ru/en/our-shows/216-queen-adam-lambert-will-rock-moscow (it's an English version). Nothing new here. I'll try to call them tomorrow, but as it's a week-end I'm not sure I'll find anybody there unless it's an emergency. I'm reading their page on the Russian social site Vkontakte, didn't find anything. Yet. I'm going to check on Adam's Russian fan sites and I'll think of something else. Though I can't do much now as it's half past 10 in the evening. I'll post as soon as I have something other than gossips. :-/

I hardly ever swear--just wasn't (and isn't) done in my family. I grew up in a time (80s) when male friends would apologize for swearing in front of me or any other female. People didn't swear in earshot of kids or woman or strangers. Times have changed and I am offended when I hear people swear in public without caring who is around them.
BUT I am not at ALL offended by Adam's swearing. When Adam is talking to a group of people or even at his concert, he doesn't feel he is talking to the "public" but friends. My favorite line is "walk that walk like you don't you don't give a fuck" because it is so him.
It is pretty common practice to know only the swear words of foreign languages. I am sorry if he offended any Finnish speakers. Remember he was speaking in American, to Americans, who would not understand what he was saying. This is pretty common, and non-offensive, in our culture.
ETA: And yes, of course, Adam likes to push buttons and break societal rules. Yet somehow he still manages to be so polite and proper--when necessary.

I find Adam demonstrating his knowledge of Finnish hilarious. I teach sign language. When someone learns that, they usually demonstrate the words they know in sign ---- I can count on them knowing "I love you" and I can count on them knowing "shit" and "fuck." They may not remember anything else, but, they remember those. Obviously, so does Adam. Might be an interesting research study to determine if this is the case across languages and cultures, and the reasons behind it.
I am sorry if some fans are offended or upset with Adam's use of profanity -- in any language. But, some fans find his kissing Tommy offensive, some find him licking and sucking the microphone offensive. Some find him grabbing his crotch vulgar. I am sure some were offended that he said "I don't like pussy....cats." That's Adam. That's us. (And it is possible that Adam finds some of the things fans say about Adam and his anatomy to be vulgar, too.) It's all part of the roller coaster ride.

OT: Do you happen to watch the show, Switched at Birth on the ABC Family channel?

Oh, forgot about ADs. I'm not sure it's an indicator. The one near my house was taken down at the beginning of March. I think they put it out when they made an announcement for a week or so and then took down. It was the same as with Madonna's ADs - I'd seen it for a week or so on my way to my son's club and then it was replaced with Sting's AD and last week with something else. I think it's the common practice, but I'll try to verify it with my friends.

Same here and I'm not even a Finn :-[ It would be way better to hear him saying something lovely :-/ Maybe it's just me but I always assumed that most people who aren't fluent in any other languages usually only know the swear words because it's funny to swear in a foreign language
