From some of the discussion earlier, it sounds like the swearing in Finnish was more equivalent to c**t rather than fuck? I don't speak Finnish so I don't know. I don't care about swearing at all but I do care about misogyny. Fuck is gender-neutral, c**t is not. Not saying Adam was trying to be misogynistic, I think he just likes to be naughty, but there is a big difference to me in the implications of the two words. JMHO, YMMV etc. That's the literal translation, though. Even our Finnberts said it means "Fuck this shit" It wasn't even used or directed at anyone. It was merely an answer to what Finnish he knows. And "yes" to everything Tigerlilly just said. Except that Beiber does use the word "Fuck!" LOL! PLUS who taught him how to say that ????? ;D ;D ;D ;D (if my husband curses in my native tongue it really is more my fault then his, IMHO) :

That was my understanding also. I have no problem with the word "fuck" and use it regularly - but I find the word c*** EXTREMELY offensive and will bitchslap anyone who uses it in my presence. Yup ^^^^^^ to all of the above. I can swear like a trooper - or dial it back depending on the company I'm in. I say fuck regularly, but absolutely wince at the 'c' word because it is gender specific and to me insulting. I much prefer to use arsehole - cos EVERYONES got one I'm sorry, but Adam saying three words in Finnish which happen to be swear words is a cute, funny non-event to me. For heaven's sake... who taught him the damn phrase in the first place? Oh wait... that would be a Finn :

See, that poncho for me says ....'walk your walk like you don't give a fuck' more than many other pieces of clothing. And look how much flack he is getting for it from inside and outside the fandom. He tried to hide both his masculine and feminine side and let the drag queens shine that night, but we all know, Adam cannot hide, no matter what. It did not quite work. He got plenty of attention anyhow, mine included. But I never mind clothing that is purpose driven rather than fashion forward. Just how I roll.... I have never had an issue with this poncho. I loved that he wore the poncho to that particular event cuz he shared that a great drag queen friend of his had given it to him. He thinks of stuff like that -- remember his AMA suit which he wore at both appearances?

Today has been the worst thread on this site since.... I don't understand all the discussion of a few words that everyone uses in a language hardly anyone understands. I doubt that the Finns would be shocked...i can imagine Sauli probably said something similar during his time on "Big Brother". pretty much my thoughts ... for the first time ever I scrolled, and scrolled, and scrolled.... So sorry some members have been unhappy/upset with the topic today. As Adam says about his fans, "It's all coming from a good place." Bottom line is that all here want Adam to be embraced by the masses, get the recognition (and sales) he deserves, and be appreciated for the beautiful human being he is. Coming from such diverse backgrounds, life experiences and belief systems, we will probably never agree about the best way for Adam to reach global domination. Some want him to play it safe, some want him to be the wild child, some want him to totally be himself, but also want to protect him from the judgment of others who will not appreciate that. Me, I don't think we need to censor videos of a public appearance because of a few words. However, when Adam couldn't hear during a concert and couldn't find the right key to sing in, I wanted those videos removed immediately from YT, because I thought they reflected badly on him as a singer and musician when it was not his fault. Many of us have our own sensitive spots. The other fact is that we stan a man who has been, is, and always will be polarizing. He will never be white bread or WGWG or G rated. That is one of the things that first attracted us to him and continues to fascinate us. He will, in turn, be politically correct, outrageously incorrect, tactful, blunt, apple pie and exotic alien. He will have an excellent filter and amaze us with his sophistication and then turn around and have no filter at all. He likes to please, and he likes to push buttons and provoke. He sings like an angel, and executes pornographic moves on the stage like a devil. He is a gorgeous fashion model, and a dork in a poncho, blue board shorts, and a Simon Legree goatee. He is a glittery, androgenous unicorn and a cute boy next door in jeans, a ball cap and a T-shirt. We embrace him for all that. And we worry about him. Sigh. As Adam also has said, "If you don't like it, go buy the other guy's music." Not telling anyone how to stan our BB or what to post here. Just saying that , as we embrace Adam's diversity, we also have to embrace or at least accept and tolerate our own. Scroll is our friend, and tomorrow is another day.
