I've never thought Trespassing too "out of the box" for Top 40 radio. There are several songs topping the charts which don't seem to conform any set formula. I sent that "Shit Adam Stans Say" clip to my daughter in college and she TOTALLY spazed out over the Trespassing bit - "I had to google it to hear it again!!! Great song!!" (This from a die-hard hip/hop, urban station listener). My personal preference is TRESPASSING>NCOE>CUCKOO>NAKED LOVE....but whatever order the label decides to release singles, I'm be waiting patiently (not) for my fav.  Well, I would think that she would spaz out over it, it does have a certain urban, funk flavor to it. I remember Kanadie asking earlier, that if Trespassing was released, wondering if it will get urban etc., stations playing it other than just mainly Pop/Rhythmetic(sp?). Would be something to consider anyway |

I guess we are using different semantics, Q3, because when I said variety, "genre" was the farthest thing from my mind. In 2009 we had Gaga, KESHA, Beyonce, Rhianna, and at the beginning of 2010, Katy. To me, they are pretty much the same kind of music. But what is in the Top 20, right now, is really varied to me... Goyte, Adele, Fun, sooooooooooooo unique. Really different. And each one of those is not something anyone could have predicted would be a hit.
RCA tried to "predict" with BTIKM. It didn't work. I think it is the perfect tme to release Adam's music. I don't think either Cuckoo or Trespassing would be a risk.

I sometimes wonder if all the requesting online has an impact.. glad to hear that it does!! Find a radio station that you can listen to AT40 because you'll have to write that down on the form. I only fill in the required info, and "Why you want to hear this song'. It takes hardly any time to do it. So just DO IT!!!  www.at40.com/songrequestMODS: Just noticed this link wasn't on the front page.. please post! AT40 countdowns are based on an unpublished Mediabase airplay chart -- not requests. The requests are for special plays and shoutouts. So if you want to wish someone a Happy Birthday -- request away. Otherwise request from local HAC stations and it will keep BTIKM on this show. NOTE: The AT40 HAC countdown is based on airplay on selected HAC stations, including recurrent songs (old songs that are no longer on the current chart) and the chart 15 days ago. (It is prerecorded.) Oh so that AT40 countdown had nothing to do with my daily requesting on that form that's linked, but it does seem to garner airplay because I also received an email a while back that BTIKM was going to be played based on requesting through the form on that link.. I've only received that email once, but it's better than nothing I suppose.. : |
