It is an amazing story and it warms my heart even more because I helped set up the connection between Sandi and Mandy!!! *curtsies* Sandi is a friend of mine. She's in my local stan group (lives about a mile from me). I was on Twitter last Monday night and one of my L.A. Twitter friends asked me if by any chance I could take Wednesday off to take a young fan to S.F. because she won an M&G, but had no way to get there. I said I wish I could, but there was no way, I was on deadline, so was buried at work Wed. BUT... Let me think about it, I might be able to put the Bert Signal out and find someone. (Actually, Sandi popped into my mind because she's a stay-at-home mom and she's very cool about driving whenever needed.) Her youngest is in high school now, so I was sure she could make arrangements for her for one day. I just saw her n Twitter, so I DMed her and asked her if she could drop everything and drive to San Francisco on Wed. She didn't even hesitate. "Hell's yeah, I can!!!" So I put her in touch w @politicsislife, who connected her to @lesbogasms (Mandy) and they followed each other and made arrangements and bam! The whole thing worked out great!! You never know how all these random connections can work. And I'm sooo happy the whole Adam story happened! He is so sweet!! |

It is a wonderful story / experience that is being shared around the fandom (I found her twitlonger posted on AO! and have since shared it on our NZGlitterTribe page) - Hope she doesn't mind! It is a wonderful example of how he genuinely cares for his fans and just one of 999,999,999 + reasons why we love him! And I'm trying (not too successfully!) to not be jealous of the lucky, lucky fans who live in the US where these promos have been taking place - it is a DREAM of mine to hear him sing in such an intimate setting - especially the un-miked performances!!! OMFG I do not think I would survive!!! Hanging on a faint dream that his promo tour will head down to NZ later this year..... and that fans here can experience something similar.....  |

Goodness, with our NZ clocks going back for end of DLS and US clocks going forward, the time difference is even more unsociable.... 11pm Mon nite here... middle of the night US time! Anyway...... this is kinda OT but was at friend's place tonight who shared this article written by a UK TV host of a motoring show (Top Gear) but also writes columns on other aspects of life, apparently! In this column he has interesting thoughts on "tribute bands" - mention of Queen and Gary Jules' Mad World.... in light of the "controversy" surrounding Adam singing with Queen I thought this might be of some interest..... certainly is food for thought!
