I get that it it the same for everyone. I get that this is how it must work. I get there is no other way and I am not asking for, expecting or suggesting another way. I just took it down to the ROOT of my anxiety and that is that Adam is not in charge of this decision. He can't be. But as a result, I am nervous.

Looks like they are clearing the way for a new single for Adam.  Just curious. Why can KP and Rhianna have multiple songs out and on countdowns but Adam, even with FYE, can only have one? Is it a label decision? KP and Rihanna have multiple hits on countdowns because: 1. Some of Rihanna's hits you see on the Pop charts are collabs, not solo songs. 2. Rihanna and KP sell 5 million+ downloads of their singles. That keeps their old songs on the charts longer. 3. When Rihanna or KP release a new single, it goes straight to the top of iTunes and stays there for weeks and months. Therefore, radio stations follow the supply and demand model and spin the hell out of the new single early on- so, the new songs fly up the charts while the old ones are still holding on because radio listeners love them. 4. Rihanna's and KP's songs cross over to multiple formats easily (Urban, Rhythmic, Dance, HAC) and chart just as high across every format. |

Adam is with a major record label who is investing millions of dollars of their own money in Adam's success. Adam can have a say in things, but he will NEVER be allowed to make all the decisions! Even Lady Gaga doesn't make all her decisions. During the era of her first album(s), which sold twenty bazillion copies and fifty bazillion single downloads, Gaga had to fund her own single and video when she wanted a different one from the label. (Alejandro) That choice also was the poorest performing single from The Fame/Monster marked the end of her singles released from that album. Right now, the label has worldwide album sales to think about. Adam doesn't get to pick his next single, no more than any other artist signed to a major label deal, gets to pick their own single. I guess Adam could cough up a million of his personal money to fund a single HE believes in, but he will only be allowed to do this near the end of the album cycle. That, or he could sign with an Indie label next era and he might have more control that way. At this point, I think Adam wants the hits and the awards shows and recognition too much to go for some Indie career where he sells 100K and sings in small venues or has a career of opening for others. Artists, who are signed to major labels, don't get to make major decisions. They have limited input, but at the end of the day- its the record labels money and they make the decisions! It's this way for everyone! ... and that's how we got BTIKM.... That's also how we got WWFM! ;D ...and IIHY. Without WWFM, Adam's last era would have been an entirely different era. This current one would have been completely different as well. Labels make mistakes. Not all great songs become hits, sometimes terrible songs become worldwide hits. NO ONE can predict any of it 100% of the time! There are tons of factors involved in picking a single and in what makes a hit. |

Yeah, "get a load" just means, "Hey, pay attention to this." As in "Hey, get a load of that car!"  Or you might say it about something someone said, as in, "Would you get a load of that?" Usually said sarcastically, as if the person had a lot of "B.S. in their bag."  "Get loaded," on the other hand, means to get drunk. There's also a sexual connotation hidden the line "get a load of me" - load is often used regarding sperm eg "a load of my jizz" |

I bet it's because station switched ownership the day before Adam gig - and even though still Sophie personnel - they seemed a bit unorganized and in a daze. Such a travesty. You guys would have appreciated this performance and would have done it such justice if you had the privilege of videotaping. I was holding on to hope cuz there was a camera positioned in back of theatre. And another radio station took video of a mic-less performance. I have a lump in my throat. Think I'm gonna cry now!! But I should just appreciate that I got to see it. Right? Oh & they said no videotaping whatsoever to audience -they would "Kick us out". So I kind of hoped it was because they were.  |

I saw on Twitter that Lynne's Father-in-Law has passed away. He was a pilot. I'm posting this poem for her. It brought me comfort when my Father-in-law passed - he was a pilot in WWII. You know, now that I think about it, much to my MIL's chagrin, I don't really trust anyone with my babies. Guess that might have something to do with my problem with RCA handling Adam's.
I don't think get a load of me is sexual. But then again, Adam could sing a lullaby and make it drool-worthy...hmmm...

Can't say this enough: Gelly, wal, zinnia and Mia, thanks for all the time you spend bringing things over and translating. 4Ms for archiving--the hours and hours you spend--someday when Adam writes his memoirs, he'll be a callin' you. Reihmer, thanks for your steadfastness re:birthdays and welcomes. Mayumi, you go gurl, along with all of our on the scene reporters at the NNN Awards. I'd like to add my thanks to all of you as well! Always know how very much you and what you bring to Atop are appreciated... Me too! I mostly lurk and can't thank all the members who keep the board hopping and updated are the lifeblood of Atop.
