mys*&@^#r - you asked earlier how he thought up the black and yellow. I give credit to mayumi. I believe it was the color scheme at the Atlanta party, and we planned (sob!) to use the same color scheme at the Sonisphere meetup. I bought a black and yellow blouse last week as a positive affirmation that Queen will arrange something. A thought (not about color schemes) that occurred to me. Even if the single hasn't been selected yet, I'm sure Adam has his own choice. So did he just try to force somebody's hand with a spectacular performance? The black and yellow color scheme for the Atlanta was picked because that was the color scheme for the Trespassing Album Cover. So I think that Adam and/or Lee Cherry came up with that -- and the real credit probably should go to the Police who invented the Yellow and Black no trespassing and crime scene tape and signs. --- JMHO -- I think Adam performed Trespassing because it was the right song for the occasion. It is upbeat, has a relevant message to a LBGT audience (LOGO's target) and is one hell of a closing number. I am certain Adam has a favorite single but I am equally certain that a performance on a cable awards show will not force RCA's hand. This appears to be a somewhat researched-based decision with industry, radio listener and PD/MD input from at least the US, Canada and UK. In honor of last nite's performance I put on my black with yellow striped t-shirt I also purchased for Sonisphere shadow and am heading to town. I'm not a yellow lover either Q3 and stripes, esp. horizonal ones, are yikes! I'm still on the lookout for a diagonal striped top.... something like you posted haribert, but more of a ladies cut. (Oh, please excuse the mess in the background....the painters have taken over my house.)  |

The release of Adam Lambert's highly anticipated sophomore album is in sight. Trespassing was originally due to come out March 20th however in mid February, RCA announced a delay to allow time for Lambert to record new material. The album is now scheduled for release May 15th in the U.S. and I couldn't be more excited. Clearly, Adam's people were nervous after lead single, "Better Than I Know Myself" flopped its way onto the Billboard Hot 100, fizzling out at an unfortunate #76. Not quite what everyone was hoping for. The song, which I called a "drab" mid-tempo electro-pop ballad seemed to have all the makings of a hit, including a STRONG team of songwriters and producers (Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Ammo, Claude Kelly)...sooo what happened? Well if you look back at Lambert's relatively short chart history, there haven't been too many smashes. In fact, Adam Lambert has only one Billboard Hot 100 top 10 to his name and that was 2009's "Whataya Want From Me," which peaked at #10. The next highest charting single - "If I Had You" which peaked at #30. Internationally, Lambert's singles have fared better. Debut single "For Your Entertainment," which here in the States peaked at a dismal #61, came in at an impressive #5 in Finland and #10 in New Zealand Now keep in mind that Adam Lambert's career is pretty young still. He's only 30 and he's just about to put out his second album. Lambert's got plenty of time to build a successful career and I think he will do just fine in the end. With Trespassing, Lambert seeks to take fans on "an exciting journey through the past two years of my life." The songs, according to Lambert, "honestly explore the ups and downs of my reality." Sounds like a more mature Adam Lambert if you ask me.more

I am not wearing yellow!! So I will wear all black and someone else can have my yellow!  That's why I said black with yellow accents!  (Very few people look good in yellow!) How about black and GOLD??!! |

8toinfinity thank you for your detailed recap. The unisex bathrooms sound really interesting! lol So happy you were able to see this amazing performance live where the sound of Adam's voice exploding through the room must have been electrifying!! Could you tell me how the audience was for the stomping and clapping parts of Trespassing ....looked like they were all participating and moving to the music. And what a moment it must have been for you guys when the confetti came pouring down as Adam was 'killing it' with the high note wails on the stage!! What a fierce and amazing performer and person we stan!!  Yes, Adam's voice was electrifying, damn! his whole presence is electrifying. I know his height helps, and his hair helps that even more, but he has that Star quality. There were other famous people there that just seemed smaller in real life. The only other one whose presence hit me with that X factor was Ru Paul. Probably different for others. Also, when Adam sings, I don't think anyone asks themself "Is he lip-syncing?" I wondered with Neon Hitch, for sure. As for the confetti, it was certainly festive, but sooo thick we couldn't see Adam, and that's just not right! Kind of like the smoke and lasers during the WWFM Idol appearance! ;D As for the crowd, definitely with him!  |
