Hmmm... There's Green Bloody Mary, but not Bloody Green Mary Summer. Needs further investigation! 8-) Maybe he's saying "it's a Bloody Green Mary Summer" but, he just didn't include the "it's a"??? Maybe he was implying it (or is it inferred). Just my 2 cents.

I know the phrase of the second coming has something to do with Jesus... but I will just take it as the second coming for this generation.... after Elvis.... or MJ... or Freddie??? LOL Thanks for your thoughts here. I definitely feel more comfortable thinking of her words in this way. 8-) Another language question. When used in this manner, it is an idiom, really, and not meant to be taken literally as the second coming of Jesus Christ. It refers to someone or something incredible and wonderful and perfect which has been yearned for and highly anticipated for a long time. Not meant at all to be sacrilegious.

I can't take credit for the post on recommended spelling changes for the English language. Saw it years ago and, in light of this discussion, googled it. Want to add my voice to those saying that the grammar discussion today IS IN NO WAY A COMMENT ON THE POSTS HERE AT ATOP. Internet forums, emails and tweets have their own form of spelling and grammar reflecting the need to be concise; to show affect, inflection and mood to avoid misunderstandings; and to establish and reinforce a sense of community through the use of common vocabulary and expression. Add to that the diversity of our members and the number of those with English as a second, third, fourth language, and all grammar and spelling rules are irrelevant on this forum. I do not want even one person to avoid posting here because of fear of judgment over grammar and spelling. Not only do the international members enrich us all with their perspectives, but they are invaluable as ninjas and translators. KEEP ON POSTING! Absolutely! I hope no one feels self-conscious about posting because of our discussion. I make my share of errors. Just a couple of days ago my brother caught me saying "Mom and I" in an email when I should have said "Mom and me." Oops! I knew better in that instance but just didn't think. When there is something to learn, I don't mind someone pointing it out to me as long as they're gentle about it. (Yes, I know I should say "as long as he or she is gentle about it," but doggone it, I think the use of "they" as a neutral single pronoun makes sense!)

You sound like your having a BTIKM "Nice Adam" kind of day. Are you wearing an awesome sweater? (oops - sorry phone calls distracted me but I'm caught up w/thread now.) LOL - no, I'm wasting energy by overheating the place BUT I just realized I am wearing one of the Adam American Apparel shirts - the gray/black with foliage and Adam's signature (in yellow!) across the bottom. (Now that I think about it, kind of hoping the delivery guy from the falafel shop didn't notice ). I got it as a gift for someone and then selfishly claimed it for myself - it's very comfy - I don't know how they comb cotton but I'm all for it. I'm glad Mr. Lambert is enjoying a day lounging by the pool and pimping other artists. He has quite the busy, stressful sched coming up. And what truly gorgeous pics from NNN and elsewhere. -I've really enjoyed the grammar discussion. And isn't it the panda who 'eats, shoots, and leaves'? I think the panda is important. Personally I will settle for people saying 'between you and me.' Also, I will note it's very difficult to teach American adults other languages when they don't really understand sentence structure and the parts of speech. (These are young, well-spoken university grads who have long since forgotten what an indirect object is - if they ever knew.) I'm with Leo Rosten - bring back the sentence diagram. - Lessons from The Voice. I don't believe everything happens for a reason, but seeing the dismissive treatment Tony Vincent is getting (I think his is the kind of career Adam would have wanted back when his eyes were set on Broadway) makes me kinda glad the universe kept Adam in the chorus. And seeing Jordis Unga shaky, lacking confidence and worn down by the biz after the way she stormed the stage of Rockstar years ago when she was 22? makes me glad Adam didn't go on one of these shows when he was that age. - In honor of Mirages posting again, I will mention this site I like. It is gay/lesbian themed but I just like the choice of poetry and pairing w/old photos. (Mirages likes poetry just to clarify.) woolfandwilde.com/category/imagined-histories/

Well it might have bothered me if I wasn't married to someone with a PhD who constantly corrects my pronunciation and word choice. LOL He doesn't think twice, but will get lost in a heart beat in the city. He get confused and loses his sense of direction. Not me.... you could blind fold me, spin me around 20 times and I'll find my way home. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. I'm far more right brained, so things like grammar will always simply be suggestions, not rules. LOL

Cassie I have seen that English spelling changes before too - it is very clever! As a teacher of 7-9 year olds, I am always reassuring them that English is a very difficult language to learn even as your first language! And I have a lot of Asisan students that are not native English speakers - I'm continually amazed at how well they do.... the biggest challenge for them is keeping tense consistent - especially writing in the past tense.... "Yesterday I go to the beach" for example... I am so impressed with the number of non native English speakers here who do brilliantly with their posts in English - I wish I could speak another language, but if I did, I doubt I'd have the courage to post like you guys do!

Adam Lambert þ @adamlambert Takin Sun and Listening to Pro-Woah by Nikka Costa. Bloody Green Mary Summer. Maybe he's just saying he's planning to spend part of his Summer taking sun with a Bloody Green Mary in hand... Sounds like a plan.
