I honestly, don't think there isn't anything, Adam CAN'T do The boy can't "stage banter" "This next song, ladies and gentlemen...." and repeat again and again....hehe (sorry...I say this endearingly )

I think we're all saying more or less the same thing now, which is... Whatever the f* the next single is, RCA, move your butt and announce it!!!
I wish we could trend #dropAdamsnewsingle or something. ITA... so tired of speculating about the next single. It is exhausting. The whole roll-out of TP has been rolling bewilderment beginning with RCA tossing BTIKM off a cliff. Since I'm in a grinch mood anyway..Fuck radio...that's all.

One of the reasons I was hoping for either Cuckoo or Trespassing for next single (as the radio handicappers on Twiitter wrung their hands and insisted we needed a "safe, radio single" - whatever that is), my instincts kept coming back to Idol and performances like THIS ONE!!! I believe largely that Adam needs to get up in people's faces in order to break through whatever prejudices or defenses they have going on. He needs to demand their attention and blow them away. And he can do that easily. This is one of his greatest strengths and it's what will build his fan base the fastest, I think. Trying to slip in without upsetting anyone s counter-intuitive to who he is as an artist and when people insist he needs the "safe" option I kind of cringe. Awww, he's tweeting!!! This is from yesterdays thread. Yesterday I was to busy to respond to this topic, so I will do it now. Susiefierce, I totally agree with what you wrote and want to add something. A big radio hit is no guarantee for good album sales and it does not necessarily make it easier for the next singles. Just look what happened in Germany last era. WWFM was a massive radio hit, the forth or fifth most played song on radio in 2010. Many would probably recognize the song, but have no idea who Adam Lambert is. The album FYE peaked at #16 and the singles IIHY and SW peaked at #36 and #63. Adam needs a single that breaks him through and showcases who he is as an artist and as susiefierce has said, demands attention and blows them away, not the song that radio will play most, because that does not guarantee any future success. If NCOE will be the next single, I'm not going to lie, I will be disappointed and be mad at RCA. I so much agree with you! :-/

Wow, almost no scrolling for me today. Loving all the deep, intelligent, respectful posts today. I had lots of them I wanted to quote and agree with but after 12 pages I really couldn't pick just one--or even just one side of the single argument. There is truth to it all --and you all say it so well. I guess I only want to add that anyone who thinks that Adam is only focusing on the artistry and not thinking about all these aspects of what it takes to make a hit, is fooling themselves. This is far more involved than what song he likes best and what song is his anthem. He is a risk taker and an artist who is always true to himself. BUT he is weighing all the options and trying to think long-term. If a watered down version of him will sell more then he will happily promote that as long as it is still him and the harder-hit songs are there as well. We may not like that, and we may want the 100-proof-Adam, but the fact of the matter is, he is not making decisions based on us. He's got us. He is trying to win the others (PD and fans). Perhaps we are far too emotionally invested to make any sound decisions!? It is a minefield of choices in a changing, unpredictable, unfair, suffering business. We are going crazy with the decision, imagine how Adam and RCA feel. I have such respect for Adam for not just the voice, the personality, the beauty, but also for the business sense. Trespassing is my all time favorite song (and the one I believe Adam would choose IF he could ignore the rest) but I have decided to cheer on whichever song Adam's team picks to pass thru the mind fields of the industry, the evils of radio, and the closemindedness and lack of sophistication of the average radio listener. I am just utterly grateful that I am one who has been touched by this man's music. Imagine those that are immune to his great power. So sad. But there is still hope for them yet... KAY I really enjoyed your post. It was well thought out and made a lot of sense to me. I really agree with what you said here. I am going to try to be more ZEN about the whole second single/release date thing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAMFAN461!!After watching the NNNA Trespassing performance for the thousandth (lol) time...I really tried to concentrate on the backup singers and the band but I couldn't take my eyes off of Adam. He was so FIERCE and owning every word and minute of that performance and as hard as I tried the only other person I knew was there was Ashley because she 'kicked ass' with her bass playing and....the camera guy loved her! lol I was the same way about the EMA performance....but I am not a too invested fan right? ;D

Maybe RCA knows that they have a few major market CHR stations lined up that will add right away (Z100, etc.), so they are taking their time.
I probably shouldn't have said "hold-up" but, rather, slow. It is all a process, so I do hope we hear something this week.
I can't help it. It is perplexing to me why we haven't had an announcement yet. Could there be a major in-house disagreement over what to release?

shoshanna stone @shoshannastone RT @michaelahann: Adam Lambert charmingly put up with some fairly imbecilic questions from me. But he refused to be drawn on Brian May's fashion sense.
