Does fanfics exist in other fandoms too? Or only in Adam's?

You're missing the whole point. Much of it is badly written, grammar questionable, plot line close to non-existent, so if it's not Adam/Tommy or Adam/Kris, what's the point. It's no different than perving over the glambulge during GNT. It's about Adam, not the storyline, not the bulge, just that it's Adam. It's called suspending reality and being a little lascivious about someone you (we) obsess over one way or another anyway. Just as I would never read science fiction or horror stories, even if Adam was the main character, some people don't want sexy stories. Off topic comments deleted. ~NoAngelSorry. The whole fanfiction thing is very unfamiliar to me. I didn't even know that stuff like it existed before I became an Adam fan. And I still do not understand what is going on! I can not translate what your views are in finnish, so that I would understand. ??? No need to answer this!

The whole fanfiction thing is very unfamiliar to me. I didn't even know that stuff like it existed before I became an Adam fan. I think that fanfic exists for everything under the sun that can be stanned. Way back in the '50s there was 'pro wrestling' fanfic (although fanfic mostly started in science fiction fandom as early as the '40s). A friend of mine who is a fan of Jane Austen found loads of fanfic just last year, mostly for Pride and Prejudice, but there were fan-written stories for most of the Austen characters. Think of any show and then google it--you're bound to find fanfic. I know Star Trek fanfic has proliferated ever since the late '60s and is still flourishing! The shows generating the most fanfic right now are Supernatural & Harry Potter and are very popular with fans. I expect Hunger Games fanfic to surge. As far as RP fic goes, it was frowned upon by early fandom writer/readers. I guess the internet has changed that. Maybe bandom had something to do with the current practice--no real proof, just my opinion. On one hand it is kinda creepy and invasive, but if I hear it's well written, I'll probably read it. *shrugs-Itseemsmyethicsareinfluxaswell*

for finns:Have you seen this? www.mtv3.fi/ohjelmat/sivusto2008.shtml/viihde/idols/uutiset_finaalit?1526380I was there when Jone revealed that their song-choice for Torsten is IIHY (I was so thrilled to hear Adam's name, lol!! ;D)... It's interesting to hear what Torsten thinks about Adam (I know that Didi likes Adam very much!) but honestly I'm not sure about how good this performance will be... With him singing his 'own version'... : I'm sure, that Thorsten has now "too big boots"! Torsten has never even heard IIHY. He knows that Adam sings high, but he (Torsten) thinks, that he can sing lower. But the thing is not therein, at what level IIHY sung. Poor boy. Maybe the jury wants him out. But I hope very much that I'm wrong!!! (Grammar police, now I will advise! I would like to know if sung is the right word. or should it be will sing , or something else?) : Torsten will sing IIHY No one yet knows how Torsten can sing IIHY until after he sings it. Once Torsten has sang IIHY, we can all critique his singing.

I have been given a good advice about fan fiction. You have to think of the characters not being Adam and whoever, but just that they're images of Adam and others doing stuff. It's like movie you get to direct and write. And as a reader you get to see the writers dreams or thoughts of those characters. When the character is written like you see Adam or anyone then you'll probably like it. When it's a totally different from your views it takes a lot of imagination to read it or write it. But I've been known to like those characters/images of Adam too.
As many of you know, I write fan fiction too, so I want to let you all know that for me it's just creating things for characters not the real person. And I use their names because it wouldn't be about Adam then at all. I have written fiction with characters totally created by me too.
On a totally different subject then. I've seen people not liking Finnish media writing about a boy on Finnish Idol being the Finnish version of Adam. I don't mind that because it just means they're feeling the Adam storm too. In the media they see Adam's coming again and so they use him in stories not really involving Adam but his song. And I like that they're performing Adam's songs on these shows too, though the singers are quite bad at those, but we know that! Who could measure up to Adam!!?? So I like that these people have chosen the song and are making it more known. And Adam gets more fans, I hope!

Regarding color. I think this could be one of Adam's future nightmares...dreaming about looking into a sea of gray and yellow in EVERY arena in every freaking country where he is giving a concert. Can you imagine? Must come right behind looking at pictures of himself ten-thousand times in his twitter feed. And while I am guilty of contributing to the latter too...I think I will go for more independence with my clothing. And I could actually wear grey and yellow, though not those shades. But WILL.NOT.DO!
On the other hand, changing our twitter avis for one day on May 15 could be a pretty good helping hand we fans could lend to the cause. Can you imagine, if radio stations and others would find the occasional yellow and grey tweets on their feed asking them whether they had already checked out the new album and what they think about it, etc....and obviously we could also request the single while we were at it. The one that we are getting very soonish, whatever that means in UK time.
Yes, that one!

I hope this is not too OT.
I used to write fan fiction in another fandom, for a TV show. It was a cop show and the fan fiction that people wrote was essentially new episodes of the show. People often expanded on the characters by including back story that wasn't in the show, or featured supporting characters they liked and wanted to showcase.
When someone told me there was a thing called "slash" fiction, I didn't know what they were talking about. I thought they meant "slash" like a "slasher" movie with blood and guts. I found out they meant fan fiction whose purpose was pornographic. The slash refers to the punctuation mark between the "pairing" as in "Kirk/Spock." The vast majority of slash fiction was homosexual pairings of male characters aimed at a female readership.
This was all back in the 1990s. I don't know what the current state of this type of fan fiction is and whether anyone still writes their own TV episodes to share with other fans or not, or whether it is all slash these days.
There is also fiction called "alternate universe" or "alternate history" involving real people. For example, I have a book of short stories called "Alternate Kennedys." Authors wrote stories on topics exploring ideas such as what would have happened if JFK hadn't died, or funny ideas such as what if the Kennedys had a rock band instead of going into politics.
I admit I find the idea of "slash" fiction involving real people to be somewhat icky. You would have to be a very skilled writer of "alternate universe" to pull it off, for me.
Does anyone write "non-slash" fan fiction about Adam? Over the last couple of years, I had a couple of ideas -- my long-lost Sleepwalker video idea, and a funny "Freaky Friday" idea about what would happen if Adam and Tommy somehow switched bodies before a big TV appearance. But I don't know if there is any audience for stories like that or it is all strictly the porno stuff.
ETA: I have heard there is slash fan fiction involving politicians. {{{shudder}}}
