That's not fair. You are supposed to display your vices publicly on this forum. Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me? Since when is reading fanfic a vice. I love good fanfic and have never made any bones about it. I just don't know much about Taoma, and wanted to say some things that are really my own personal thoughts. I wanted to let her know I would be there if she ever had any questions. That's all. I also want to say that there are some terrific writers out there. Some of them even write fanfic. Have you ever read "The Tie"? I couldn't put it down. It was a beautifully written story. Just because it used familiar names did not make it any less an excellent, emotional read. I envy people who can move me with words. I love writers. I love reading.

This place has really taught me a lot. Today, because of the fanfic discussion I read my first. I must say, although I enjoyed the gay sex education, I really felt like the characters only shared names with who I imagine Adam and Sauli to be. I'll stick with my imagination from now on.
I also learned to what extent Adam stands out among his "peers". I listened to a new song from another unmentionable artist, as well as watched the other performers from NNN. WOW, was I blown away by the really awful voices (especially that attempt at falsetto). I was kinda embarrassed for these people. Adam stands out like a beacon.
This confirms it for me. It is ALL about image. It is not about the voice, the lyrics, the music, the message. It is total image. Before Adam wiped off his make-up and hung up his glam, I was sure he needed an image change to be heard. I wasn't sure how he'd go about that but I guess his team has decided that might be trick too. I hope what he is doing helps, because, after watching the dolphins and bubble toys in the audience, I realize that the utter illogicalness of this business is far worse than I had originally believed.

I'm sure, that Thorsten has now "too big boots"! Torsten has never even heard IIHY. He knows that Adam sings high, but he (Torsten) thinks, that he can sing lower. But the thing is not therein, at what level IIHY sung. Poor boy. Maybe the jury wants him out. But I hope very much that I'm wrong!!! (Grammar police, now I will advise! I would like to know if sung is the right word. or should it be will sing , or something else?) : Torsten will sing IIHY No one yet knows how Torsten can sing IIHY until after he sings it. Once Torsten has sang IIHY, we can all critique his singing. Thanks HoppersSkippersMiners! I thought myself that the correct word would be will sing, but google gave me every time (I tried a variety of sentences) word sung!

I hope this is not too OT. I used to write fan fiction in another fandom, for a TV show. It was a cop show and the fan fiction that people wrote was essentially new episodes of the show. People often expanded on the characters by including back story that wasn't in the show, or featured supporting characters they liked and wanted to showcase. When someone told me there was a thing called "slash" fiction, I didn't know what they were talking about. I thought they meant "slash" like a "slasher" movie with blood and guts. I found out they meant fan fiction whose purpose was pornographic. The slash refers to the punctuation mark between the "pairing" as in "Kirk/Spock." The vast majority of slash fiction was homosexual pairings of male characters aimed at a female readership. This was all back in the 1990s. I don't know what the current state of this type of fan fiction is and whether anyone still writes their own TV episodes to share with other fans or not, or whether it is all slash these days. There is also fiction called "alternate universe" or "alternate history" involving real people. For example, I have a book of short stories called "Alternate Kennedys." Authors wrote stories on topics exploring ideas such as what would have happened if JFK hadn't died, or funny ideas such as what if the Kennedys had a rock band instead of going into politics. I admit I find the idea of "slash" fiction involving real people to be somewhat icky. You would have to be a very skilled writer of "alternate universe" to pull it off, for me. Does anyone write "non-slash" fan fiction about Adam? Over the last couple of years, I had a couple of ideas -- my long-lost Sleepwalker video idea, and a funny "Freaky Firday" idea about what would happen if Adam and Tommy somehow switched bodies before a big TV appearance. But I don't know if there is any audience for stories like that or it is all strictly the porno stuff. ETA: I have heard there is slash fan fiction involving politicians. {{{shudder}}} Actually, a lot of the pre 1990's published StarTrek/Dr Who/etc novels were exactly the sort of fanfic alternative universe stuff you're talking about. As the internet grew, anyone could then write and post these sort of stories. Some were ok, a large percentage was dreck, and a few were wonderful. Its harder, but not impossible, to get fanfic into published form these days until you broke in earlier. But many of these alternative stories are written constantly. I think that because "fanfic" here and in other music fandoms generally refer to eroticism stories, often people don't realize there's another universe of literature that is purely plot-driven out there. And that some of it is quite good.

On the other hand, changing our twitter avis for one day on May 15 could be a pretty good helping hand we fans could lend to the cause. Can you imagine, if radio stations and others would find the occasional yellow and grey tweets on their feed asking them whether they had already checked out the new album and what they think about it, etc....and obviously we could also request the single while we were at it. The one that we are getting very soonish, whatever that means in UK time. Yes, that one! Thumbs up for this idea on May 15

Finns, have you found a link that allows you to see the whole NNN Award? None of the link, that I have seen in Adamtopia, does not work for me.

Adam is interesting to me for far more than his sex appeal and limiting stories to that seems to be kinda boring to me. After all, sex is sex, in a way. Not that new of an idea to me. Your ideas sound great!

There's one thing I really don't understand. If it's all pure fantasy, so why do they call it Adam/Tommy or Adam/Kris stuff? Why can't it be Billy/George or Matt/Joe or something else ??? ??? Huh? Because you're writing real person fiction about Adam & Tommy, not about Matt and Joe...? lol. I never really knew fan fic existed until (adam/tommy) lol. but to see all the DIFFERENT ppl fics are about, haha From Sherlock Holmes to Superheros, lol....... I think they are fun :
