New Single? I'm looking forward to dl'ing it. I don't ever listen to BTIKM anymore. NCOE is a good song, acoustic or Dr. Luke style or whatever. But I'm puzzled, why doesn't it have a bridge? During the acoustic versions, Adam just riffs, and it's like Bruno forgot to write some words, or Adam's filling in. Really odd, but what do I know about song structure. NCOE reminds me more of WWFM than anything else - a supposedly simple song that's actually very difficult to sing. I'm sure breathing during that song (cassie - maybe you already covered this and I missed it) is difficult, it has such long singing lines (sorry, don't know the technical term). I remember seeing so many covers of WWFM pop up, and because Adam makes it look effortless, it was startling to see so many people strain to sing that. NCOE kind of has that same quality. Adam will totally kill any TV performances of that.
It's not a bad thing for people to hear Adam's song on the radio and think it reminds them of someone else, as in, I've heard people hearing Goyte's song compare him to Peter Gabriel meets Sting. Sorry, but I still think the only thing people in the wider world think of with regard to Adam is GAY GAY GAY. It is his single most biggest hurdle in this hetero-normative world, and until people don't blink that he's gay, I think his music for radio I mean will be considered sexless and tame in fans' eyes, compared to how he performs live, and his music videos will never feature another person's face...
Also, I personally LOVE Trespassing (and Voodoo was one of my favorites last era) but I never expected radio to play it. I do wish that he gets to perform it more on TV - that beat and bass line is addictive. I'm an album buyer in general though, so I'll probably love the deepest album cut on Trespassing the most LOL. May 15 is right around the corner. New music soon! I think Adam's gotten better as a songwriter, and his recording voice sounds, to me, more contemporary too.
