I'm really excited about NCOE for radio! Trespassing is still my favorite. In fact, I will go on and say that Trespassing is my favorite AFL song ever. For me, it's quintessential Adam and I think it's a brilliant song. I love every single performance from acoustic to NNN and I have practically worn out the snippet . BUT I'm totally on board with NCOE as the next single now. It hits a sweet spot in Adam's range that is soooo beautiful to hear. I'm choosing to believe that they really did their homework and this is the song that radio said they would embrace. They would have been crazy to disregard that feedback IMO. Adam will perform NCOE live and SLAY it. He'll perform Trespassing and people will be stomping and clapping for more. He'll perform OOL live and people will weep overcome by the beauty of it. I can't wait. ETA: just re-read this. Do you think I sound berty enough? lol

I am not sure what will happen with NCOE in the UK (or the US for that matter) -- but "Grenade" is similar (also a classically constructed pop song, and at 108 BMP slower that NCOE) and it was #1 in both countries.
I have no crystal ball -- but reading the tea leaves......
I feel optimistic about the choice of NCOE.

Pop Justice UK review (reminder: they like snark, so this sounds pretty good) www.popjustice.com/songs/adam-lambert-never-close-our-eyes/When we met up with Adam Lambert (CLANG!) last year he played us an early version of this song. "It's not finished!" he said. Usually when people tell you songs 'aren't finished' in that sort of scenario it's in case you think the song doesn't sound much cop. Well 'Never Close Our Eyes' did sound quite cop so everything was alright but as it happens the Bruno Mars-penned song has changed quite a lot - Dr Luke's come in to 'do a Dr Luke' on the production, the whole thing bangs about 28% more than it did before. Obviously the whole written-by-Bruno-Mars aspect of the tune means that it doesn't pack quite as much of a personal, Lambo-type punch as the songs Adam himself wrote for the rest of 'Trespassing', but sonically it's far more in line with the album's more electrifying moments, so it sets the stage pretty well for the July album release. Was just thinking that these east coast Pop stations that we know are on board, might be a clue that Z is also. I wouln't be surprised to see Adam already committed to their Jingle Ball. There'd be no way for us to know it since it is a Christmas show. But if DMG has anything to do with these bookings, I remember that Katy did them all for the 2010 holidays.

Yay for Jimmy Kimmel!!! I knew he would come through and make right the 2009 debacle! So jealous of all of you going, but maybe there will be a GMA concert coming up (at which point pigs will well and truly be flying)? And I was just reflecting on what an extraordinarily difficult feat Adam is trying to accomplish....yes he wants to be a "pop prince" on radio and surely that is hard enough (there are probably less than 20 such people alive that can claim that today), but he ALSO wants to be known for his astonishing vocal talent, he wants to be a producer, a writer of both pop hits AND classic anthems for the oppressed, a style icon, a civil rights advocate....oh and the frontman of one of the most respected and classic rock bands in history. And all this not in sequential order.....but all at once! He is moving forward on all these fronts, and maybe he could move quicker on any one of them if he would limit himself (he could be RiRi and put out albums of other people's songs, he could be Buble and be known principally for his amazing voice, he could sing rock classics and permanently join an iconic band) but no....not his way. Some avenues may move quicker than others and some paths may be easier than others (maybe writing his own radio pop hits is a step behind on the current gant chart), but I don't think he wants it any other way. He really is unique I think. Nice post!

He needs to stay healthy for this ride! As the news releases keep coming, we realize how much time and effort it takes on Adam's part to bring all this to fruition. We have no idea how much time he has spent behind the scenes doing things musical and non-musical to get his baby off the ground. He is amazing!

Strong electronic instrumentals in beginning and his voice sounds clearer and more distinct than he had in all the other versions. Now I'm getting excited. I think it sounds great.

Love the snippet! Definitely more "driving" and very dancey. Don't know why RCA is releasing to iTunes and radio on the same day. This really only makes sense, for me, if there will be some big splashy debut on a big station. It is very difficult for just a hardcore fanbase to move a brandnew song up the iTunes chart. It will probably do about as well as BTIKM did upon release (maybe a little better) since it will be essentially the same people buying. BUT, with CHR kicking in this time, long-term sales should be much better eta---Question, how powerful would a Bruno tweet be on release day? Maybe that could help push it up.
