You may think it strange coming from me. But I really don't care to see Adam have a love interest in his music videos at this time. What's the point? Why create endless controversy? Besides, the work-around approach, as in the BTIKM vid, almost forces a much more creative approach to story telling. However, what i would love to happen in the future is for Adam to play the male romantic lead opposite a female romantic lead in a big screen musical. For years, gay men have made love to women on the big screen. Of course, no one knew until years later (after they had died and couldn't sue) that the men might have other orientations. Maybe some day an "openly gay" male actor may be able to play straight and be accepted as the romantic lead. THIS MAY HAVE BEEN SAID EARLIER as I have not had time to read through the whole thread. I think a lot of people would love to see a same sex relationship in a music video, including Adam. However Adam wants hits and it seems that playing it reasonably safe up front is a faster way to have the hits, make good money, and pay back RCA. Also, Adam may want to keep his relationship separate from his art/work. Or he may want to protect his relationship with Sauli and not exploit it further. Obviously as a woman I think it would be very hot to see him with a female lead but I think it is quite possible that many in the LGBT community would take that as a betrayal as many did with the picture with the naked female model. Maybe Adam's female fans should send out a letter kindly asking the gay male community for their consent of 1 video with a female romantic partner at some point in Adam's career without backlash. ; ) |

As for the videos thing, I don't get the big deal. Most female pop artists don't have romantic leads in their videos so why is it necessary for Adam except insomuch as some people want him to make some public display of his sexuality to prove a point. ^^^^absolute WORD!^^^^^^ Why can't Adam make a vid just ~singing. You know, the thing that he actually wants to be known for :-/ YMMV n' all. Yes!! so agree!!! |

Adam should be able to make the same public display of his sexuality that straight people make with theirs-- no more, no less.
But only he can decide when the time is right. For him and for his career.
I hate that it's even an issue-- we all hate it-- but it's the reality he lives with.

All is unfolding according to plan... ;D (Well, I don't really know that, but that's what I'm going to believe, ha!)
I want Adam to give me what I didn't know I wanted. I want him to surprise, amaze, titillate, and delight me. This was the way my fascination began. He has a zillion creative ideas and I want to see what choices he makes without trying to guess or second-guess him. Also...limitations can spur creativity.
Random comment on past videos -- I think I'm in the minority on this, but, although I loved them all and especially loved the cinematic cheesiness of the TFM vid, my very favorite of Adam's vids was the IIHY video. Loved Adam in the top hat, loved the colors, loved the party-in-the-woods atmosphere, loved that all his friends came out to participate. Wasn't wild about the song until the video came out and then liked it even more when Adam sang it on tour. NOW JUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And with that, I'm going to sleep. LOL.

ITA agree with you bb :-*and yes it's not fair, but I would also love for Adam not to have to even contemplate the rights and wrongs of this bullshit and just put out a kick ass vid based on what HE feels and what HE wants regardless of the LGBT hoopla that surrounds him. It's not about what WE want for him and what WE believe is right and just in this world - it's about what Adam needs to do in this day and age - RIGHT NOW - to be accepted in to the mainstream. Sad but true. Once he is, then he will be able to start pushing some serious butttons. *straps in safety belt and girds loins* #can'twait |

I think Adam knows what he wants to do and how he wants to do it. Some fans never seem to be happy,It's always,more more& more.He has a great new single out,he's doing Queen.Lots of publicity etc. Still not enough..Now some want Adam to break all barriers,like superman. So many We wants...and up the ante. Can we just be happy with what we have, for at least one day??? just saying. :-/ |

Adam just looking into the eyes of his lover does enough for me. Can't he just start there. The more people see such things, the more comfortable they become. Even the homophobes become blind to same sex love. Until love between same sex couples becomes normal (which it is) to everyone, nothing will change.
