Okay. I'm the one that was talking about the AMA's and how I read everyone's trainwreck comments. That was for the AMA's sorry I wasn't clear (a couple of people caught it). I didn't realize I didn't have a key for work tonight (boring story) so I had to leave all of a sudden with the last person. Didn't mean to drop a bomb and exit. :-/ I just got home and caught up. I think if you put yourself in the position of us west coasters that are waiting to watch (no stream - visual or sound) the comments were sounding pretty negative. Bad notes, raspy voice, bad sound, back up band not adding anything, a stoic Stephen Tyler and JLo, a husband and a son walking through and dissing the song etc. I didn't think "train wreck" but just maybe that he didn't gain any new fans especially since it didn't sound like he made it clear that this is a song for charity and he's not releasing it as a single from his album. The more recent pages....much more positive. I feel better. Sorry to seem fatalistic. I'm better now. I'm having a glass of wine and waiting to watch GNAFL. ILHSFM :  I'm on the West Coast and didn't hear a single one of those comments. Then again, I watched the stream, but I follow 700 people and not a one was saying that. (Well, one person said, "Does he have a cold?") I ignored her. I heard flawless, beautiful, amazing, breathtaking. I saw a tweet from Billboard.com right afterwards saying it was tender yet charismatic.  |

are we back in our happy place now? I hope so because we probably won't see Adam on tv again for awhile and I think we should roll around in the glittery moment |

Thought: I think Adam is pimping idol so much this year because he doesn't want to be known (in part) as the contestant that killed idol. He is A longterm fan of the show. This appearance is doing more to help idol (IMO) than it is Adam. What do you think? How many of us would be watching idol tonight if it weren't for Adam? The entertainment press seems excited as we are. Do you think Adam will also be on Simon's new show? Even Moser likes Acoustic "Aftermath" even if he doesn't care for the "Billboard Magazine" *(LOL) remix. *Moser's fine music reporting! Idol doesn't need Adam's help IMO. The show is going strong after 9 complete seasons. I would be watching with or without Adam just as I watched prior to him being on the show. I think a lot of the problem for Adam is this overhype of his importance in the grand scheme of the life of this show. Idol is a monster and no one contestant can make or break it IMO. I beg to disagree, since I never watched before or after Adam and there are lots out there like me...I'm not alooooooone  |

I find it interesting that the different articles I've read about tonight's show refer to Adam singing a beautiful , stunning, charismatic , etc. acoustic Aftermath and then almost as an after thought mention that Diddy sang.

Ok, so I left for a bit as not to say something I'd be sorry for...hehe! Glad some are changing their minds. And, if not, everyone is entitled to their own opinions here, of course.
I have watched the utubes over and over, and am loving this performance more and more every time I watch it.
HOW THE HELL CAN HE BE SO BEAUTIFUL???? I love all the different looks Adam has, but this has to be my favorite!! Not just this particular performance, but everytime he goes with *less is more*. Just shows the natural beauty to me, anyways.
As I sat here reading, something popped into my mind. Can you imagine how Adam must have felt, singing a song that he co-wrote, on Idol? I just melt when I think of his feelings about that. And, it makes me tear up to think about it.
Plus the fact that he is singing this song for such a wonderful cause. And, it's pretty obvious to me that he's doing it selflessly. It's not about the money for him. It's not about the attention HE will get this time. It's all about the Trevor Project & It Gets Better!
I think he looked so joyous tonight! Yes, he felt the love being given to him, but he wasn't thinking about himself. He was thinking about who he could help....by just being HIM!!!!
If it's even possible, I love him more now than ever!! What a totally amazing man he is!!
Aftermath has always been *my song*. Just ask hoopla1, she'll tell you...lol!! I love every version of it!! Yep, even on FYE!! And, I always will. I'm one of the few that loved it from the beginning. The words just spoke to me. I am forever grateful that those 4 wrote this wonderful song. It will be in my heart forever!!!
