Well, I don't post here often, but I just have to state that I am really disappointed at the nit-picking of Adam's performance, especially in the early posts tonight. I understand that so many people on this forum have seen Adam perform that song hundreds of times so y'all are holding him to a much higher standard. And everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that. I am so proud of him, he was gorgeous, seemed relaxed to me, really, really delivering lyrics that mean the world to him, and the vocals, as ever, superb. Wonderful performance, it was plain to see that he was so excited to get that message out. So happy for him. ..and I'm disappointed in members who nitpick the nitpickers. Everything is said in love on this forum, but I'm getting sick of being admonished everyTIME I might not gush about everyTHING. Have a lovely night everybody! Sweet Adam dreams!

After the Steven Tyler concern tonight I thought this part was interesting. I could read his lips. ”Wow,” he said. “It’s an honor to meet you!” Steven, 62, didn’t seem too ruffled, but clearly enjoyed meeting Adam as well. IMO, this is how it should be. Adam is at the beginning of his career. Steven is a rock icon. Adam and Steven have never met. IMO, it is unrealistic to expect Steven to fan boy over Adam at this stage. Everything in it's time. First they have to meet. Second, Adam should acknowledge his respect to Steven. The doors are now open for Steven to acknowledge Adam if he chooses to do so. There is a hierarchy in the music industry. Adam fans expecting Steven to fanboy would be just as ridiculous as Gaga fans expecting Madonna to fangirl. Think about it.

I'm beginning to think the different perceptions of this performance can be from people having different TVs. This has happen to me at least three times for TV performances where people's opinions were divided. In the moment I thought "Oh no, Adam's sounding off tonight" only to watch the you tube later and he sounds great. Same thing happened tonight so I wonder if anyone else has this happen? On top of it I kept looking at his teeth thinking they looked brown and had spaces in between from bad lighting...random :-/ Adam's teeth are the most perfect I've ever seen so I may have to buy a new TV just for Adam's performances. Then after no mention of where to buy the song or anything about the DVD I was in a bit of a funk and didn't post anything.
But now that it looks like a resounding success I'm in my happy place again.
How awesome that on a show with 25? million people watching, a gay man sang a song about coming out (at least Adam said that's what he was thinking about) and finding love, then promotes an awesome LBGT charity to a pretty conservative demographic where many may never have heard about it before and the whole thing is receiving glowing reviews. Progress!!! #Winning \o/

Good article Adam Lambert Strips Down "Aftermath" on American Idolwww.popstar.com/News/Shows/Article/876As performances go, this one will be remembered for it's poignant simplicity, it's relevant message, and the fact that a traditionally flamboyant artist shed his glitter and glam in the interest of something bigger than himself. And . . . (Jennifer later watched former flame Ditty Dirty Money perform "Coming Home.") Another sentence from the article . . . And no-one has since descended those Idol stairs like Lambert, who sashayed his way down with the prowess of sexy-fied cat during the Nina Simone classic Feelin' Good.
