Okay you guys. Was this only about a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale? Looks 10, song.....3? Well, I give him a 20! Sometimes I guess I'm glad my musical sensibilities are perhaps a little dulled or that I just can't discern the flaws. He sounds better to me than anyone else I listen to these days (and I listen to many artists besides him.) I TRULY loved this performance. And he is gorgeous. Guess I need about a dozen slutberries, HSM! ;D

This was a very pretty and emotional version. Adam was really selling the lyrics. It was almost like he was talking to the folks that this remix will benefit and all of the rest of us too. This was important. My thoughts exactly... so sincere. What a class act. HE.WAS.GORGEOUS! ST's reaction was a puzzle. Was he stunned by GNAFL's megawatt voice/energy/charisma so close up? We know it's mesmerizing... Was he disappointed with the choice of this song and would have loved to hear Adam belt out a rock cover ?

I thought that was a great performance. I loved it!
I think for those of us who've seen him perform this song so many times on the GNT, it's natural to start comparing and certainly this version has a decidedly raspier tone. The high notes are sung kinda like a "rocker" would, with more grit and less purity. But JMO, I don't think that's a bad thing. As crazy as it may seem, there are many people who don't like / appreciate the purity of tone that many of us here gush over. They prefer the raspier rocker sound. Most casual viewers wouldn't know about the gazillion GNT versions and as a stand-alone performance, it ROCKS!!
But what really sealed it for me was the ending. I was all "Yeah, this is great! I like it! Wooohoooo high note! Werk it!! Then BAM! OMG new ending......so soft and tender and sincere. And with that beautiful tone. <<Sighs and melts>> I need to watch it again!!!"
