I'll admit I'm disappointed in the free fall of BTIKM. Anyone guessing maybe next weeks "adds" week or at least a few stations playing it. I was reading over at Pulse Music that Kelly most likely will be releasing another single Darkside. I'm hoping Adam gets his adds first because if she releases the same time, we are in deep do. PD's will take her song over NCOE. This is so nerve wrecking. AND I'm hoping he gets 984spins like Adam Levine new song just rec'd in one friggin day. Yeah I know he's not a super star but I want a larger spin increase than 1 - 24 a day. I knew BTIKM would fall quickly when RCA announced the second single. It was taking a great deal of energy and a month long radio tour across the country to keep that song in the Top 20. Most songs start free falling when they start down the charts. Some end up like WWFM and are played for years after and some end up like IIHY and fall almost completely off the radio stations. I expect that BTIKM will be like IIHY. Maybe NCOE will be the new WWFM!  I doubt RCA is going to have Kelly's add date the same day as Adam's, but when she does release she will get tons of automatic adds. Why would you hope for spins like Adam Levine's new song? That's not going to happen. Levine had a worldwide massive hit before this one. He is as hot right now as Bruno. Payphone has been #1 on iTunes since the first hour it was released. PDs jumped all over this single. |

Completely off topic, but how in the world did someone come to write a song called "payphone?" LOL! Do kids even know what a payphone is? Are there even Payphones around anymore?

I understand the radio PD's cut-back in BTIKM spins but personally I don't really get it when fans stop requesting a song that's currently on the charts. If you are writing in NCOE anyways how hard is it to check the BTIKM box too? Even when NCOE gets an adds date it might be weeks before it gets to your market. Why not do the little bit we can to keep a current Adam song on the air there?

BTIKM did move back up one position in the afternoon update. All Access has not updated. However, Mat Kearney's "Ships In The Night" is only 1 spin behind and will pass him tomorrow.

Kelly already has an add for Darkside...no Adam yet. I know its early BUT
As for Adam Levine, I'm not comparing him, I was referring to the astronomical amout of spins per day - that is what I am wishing for AL
Kimmel performance can't come soon enough

I really need an add date for NCOE. Kelly's new single will be dropping right around the same time. I am interested to see how RCA handles this. I guess as long as they put a couple weeks between---because Kelly's gonna open with about 50 adds. (that's what a smash hit gets you)

(that's what a smash hit gets you) Well Kelly is still #1 on the mediabase chart and only -27 spins wherease Adams has -474 spins AND SHE 'F N' ONE ADD TODAY... WHat is RCA going to do...nothing 'cause Kelly is getting the adds first so it seems. yeah yeah yeah I know shes' a proven superstar but her single hasn't taken that much of a drop therefore, RCA shouldn't even comtemplate releasing Darkside until NCOE has some speed. IMO! >:( |
