But Marie, isn't that basically what Adam said to fans at Z100? That the album was being pushed back (Mapril) because they were adding "radio" songs. And he name checked Dr. Luke. And the Bruno song was around, but it wasn't a lock for the album until Adam announced the postponement.
I agree with you, I see lots of single potential on the album, but that doesn't mean that RCA was as confident.
I know non-stans like to bring this up, but it is a reality. I just choose not to spin it in a bad way. To me, it showed just how invested RCA is in Trespassing. They want this album to be heard.

Adam has a brilliant album coming out. But, if they want more than just his core fan base to hear it, he is going to HAVE to conquer radio. And both Adam and RCA know this. That is why he went on an exhausting 18-city radio tour, that is why he is doing a bunch of radio concerts next month (including one for a station that has basically ignored him, but is in an important market) and that is why they postponed his album in order to record some last minute radio-friendly songs, including one by radio's current darling Bruno Mars. This isn't angst, it is just reality. Adam has a great album, but pop success is what will lead to opportunity---opportunity for people to know it's out there, opportunity for Adam to get the exposure he needs by performing the songs in front of more than his established fan base. NCOE is a great pop song. I have a lot of confidence right now, and things are going to be getting vey exciting in a couple weeks. Not trying to jump on you, but it really irks me when people say this. Almost the whole album, or at least half is radio single ready, so I just wish people would stop acting as if the album was bad, and they had to go back to the drawing board to add in more "radio friendly" songs, because what he had wasn't good enough. It's really confusing actually, we knew about most of the songs before the delay right? Pop That Lock and the bonus tracks were the new ones. Adam said the album was delayed to make way for multiple Dr. Luke tracks. BTIKM was already done, and NCOE we already knew about, maybe they weren't happy with the sound though and so brought in Dr. Luke and did it again. But what other reasons could have been behind the delay? Where are these other Dr. Luke tracks? Did they delay the album so Adam could record some songs that didn't fit the album and didn't end up getting used? And why did they wait until they had a release date to do it when they already had 50+ songs? ??? I'm not bitter about the delay or anything more, I'm just genuinely curious as to what it was about, it doesn't make sense to me.

I keep hearing that we are not allowed to bring purses to the Kimmel show. Does anyone else know anything about that? Is that true? And Adam looks HAWT in those pictures with the girls. LOVE his hair, and his face, and his mouth and that dirty, dirty, sexy hawt look he has!! LOVE when he makes that sexy face, OMG!! There are reviewers on Yelp that say don't even try to bring in a purse no matter how small it is. They will make you take it back to the car. My guess is that with 1,000 people to checkin they don't want to take the time to have purses going thru security. I am wearing my jeans with 4 pockets and a jacket that also has 4 pockets, so ID & money(in a very small wallet,) chapstick, and phone will all be secure!

I think RCA was worried about radio-friendly singles. Why else do you bring in Dr. Luke? They delayed the album to work on making some tracks more "radio" and maybe adding a new one. If the chief reason for the delay was to get a single higher on the charts by album drop time, then they would have rushed NCOE to radio; they haven't done this.
This isn't a bad thing. Of course non-fans will spin it that way, but everything can be spun. RCA has clearly made radio a priority for this era. Which, IMO, is a good thing. Radio exposure will lead to new ears, more sales, more time on the charts, and more promo opportunities.
eta, I agree that RCA is messed up. But Adam said several times, in response to questions about the delay, that the album wasn't done.

And damn, the Bruno song was there for awhile before the delay, they just touched it up, like Adam had said, pretty much what he has been doing all along with the whole album; rerecording different vocals, getting different producers to get the songs to his satisfaction. Sorry, I just hear this a lot with nonstans with there passive aggressive comments, and it just gets under my skin. Okay, I agree with both of you. LOL I agree that RCA and Adam both know the importance of radio and that BOTH clearly want radio play for Adam's singles! I also agree that the delay on the album didn't have anything to do with getting more radio ready material on the album. After the tracklist came out, it was evident that they didn't record a bunch of new ones. They could have wanted to get Dr. Luke to produce a couple of the songs. We know he reworked NCOE. IMO, RCA is just fucked up right now. They went through a bankruptcy and restructuring recently. Everyone of their artists, no matter how big they are, have been pushed back. EVERYONE! I seriously don't think they have the manpower or resources anymore to launch albums like a record label such as Interscope has. Kelly has done well because she is Kelly. I really believe that Adam is going to have to work harder than he ever has before and use every resource and talent he personally has to combat the lack of resources on RCAs part.

nationalglampoon--I've been wondering exactly the same thing. One of the questions I would have for Adam at his next twitter party (if I tweeted) would be: "You said album was delayed for a few new songs...NCOE (love it!) and....???" Big mystery there. --------------- FYI--Some of you may have seen my posts last night as I was trying to figure out how to upgrade from regular to deluxe album via AO. I ended up emailing the contact address and it turns out I was right--there is no way to do the upgrade. Your only option is to cancel your original order of Trespassing-Regular (which requires an email to the contact address-there's no easy way to cancel an order online) and then to place a new order for Tresspassing-Deluxe. It's possible that I'm the only person on here who pre-ordered the album via AO but didn't want to order one of their fancier packages, but in case anyone else wanted to upgrade to just the deluxe album, I'm afraid that's the answer: you gotta email to cancel, and then place a brand new order. Love you, Adam, but #customerservicefail, AO.

I know there were major restructuring and executive changes but I don't remember hearing anything about bankruptcy. Record companies have always seemed prone to major restructuring as evidenced by the almost constantly reshuffling of executives in the industry between companies or between labels within the companies.

Okay, if Adam doesn't do well this era, I am reading from posts above, it's RCA's fault, NO MONEY AND MANPOWER FOR ROLLOUT. Well, that is not wanted I wanted to hear this morning.
Yes, he is not Kelly, but a valuable asset. To destroy an asset is suicide. I hope this is not true. Why oh why does Adam get shyte flung at him. He has enough to deal with.
Makes me want to spend more money, and buy more albums to support him.

I would also love to know what song (it was a new one, I think) was the one he worked on at a studio in Chicago while on the radio tour. And wasn't there something else from Claude?
